Rescue a Golden rehomes nearly 300 dogs every year. Every dog is thoroughly vetted---microchipped, updated on shots, tested for valley fever and heartworm, started on the heartworm preventive and treated for any and all pre-existing conditions including diabetes, hip dysplasia, cancer, etc. Because RAGofAZ spends 92% of its money on veterinary care, veterinarians who are willing to discount the organization are used exclusively. This keeps costs down and why we don't allow families to use other vets until the adoption is final. Then of course, the family can use whatever vet they so choose.
