Republic of the Rio Grande 3/30/2006

I went to the Republic of the Rio Grande restaurant when I first moved to the valley in 2004 and LOVED it. The restaurant's decor is very nice and it had a young and hip vibe to it. The food was excellent and the guacamole dip was out of this world. It had been at least a year before I went back but I was craving that guacamole. The second time I was very disappointed with the dip and my meal. It was just okay. I tried it recently for a third time and it was even worse than the second..... I heard they had new owners and that is why it wasn't "good" anymore but I don't know if that is just rumor....Needless to say I won't be going back anytime soon.... more
