Bottom line is, they are a convenience to the people who can't afford to go out and purchase appliances or furniture outright cash or credit. They do not check your credit and this is also a convenience to many people as well. But there is a major set back to this convenience, they hassle you regularly with their ongoing phone calls, whether you are late on payment or always on time. If your payment is due on a Saturday before closing, they will call you Friday night and/or Saturday morning just to remind you that your payment is due. I have had this experience, and I am usually timely with my payment. And if for some reason or another, I will be late, I have contacted them in advance. The other thing to realize is, the price you pay is HIGH, as they do charge you triple the price you would pay outright to the stores. Convenience is pricey in this case.
