they will quote you one thing, hold your furniture hostage, and use sub-contractor to do the moving job, then charge you an arm & leg, STAY AWAY, a 3 hour job became 9 hours of 3 stooges smoking cigarettes and avoiding to do work unless paid a $100 an hour, take it from me, 1 star is WAAAAY to much for these scam artists. 300 supposedly somehow turned into $1200 with many broken furniture, and un-necessary fees, they will charge you for breathing. more

Relocation Moving & Storage Efficient and Careful Movers.\r \r The guys did a great job with our move. Our main concern was doing the move in a timely manner. We have a dog and a baby, so timing was key. Our next main concern was making sure everything made it in one piece. \r They showed up bright and early as scheduled, and they completed everything on schedule as well. This showed me that the estimate they gave me for packing, transportation, and unpacking was correct. We had a 2 BR apt, and they packed it up very carefully and quickly.\r I was very happy that they also packed all of our glass and crystals individually. One guy (Victor)basically spent the whole time in the kitchen wrapping everything! As we unpacked we were very happy to find not one chip in our dishes, cups, and wine glasses. (We didn't want to lose our Reidels in the move!)\r We also were pleased that the foreman was very organized and responsible. He made sure that our furniture was placed EXACTLY where we wanted it to be in our new place. \r Since we have a baby, we also requested that the baby room be set up first, so that he could nap. They did that as well. These guys were awesome. I will use them in the future for all my moves. My move cost me half of what I expected it too. They are really reasonable rate-wise. And, most impressively although they are paid by the hour they don't dilly-dally like some movers do. The movers were quick, efficient, polite and awesome. \r I just wanted to take a moment to recognize the efforts of a few of your employees. We used your services (for the second time) to move my family from a third floor apartment to our new home 6 miles away in NJ. A few of your employees, were the lucky guys that got to carry our furniture down three flights of stairs. They did so with great care and speed. A couple pieces were quite heavy, but your men took it in stride and got the job done. They loaded our three bedroom apartment into the truck and then into our new home in less than 5 hours. They treated our furniture as if it were their own and did not damage anything. They should be commended for their work ethic. I phone-interviewed three movers for my mum's move from a single-family house to a one-bedroom apartment. Though not very different in price, Andy @ Relocation Moving spent time with me on the phone to explain the process, answer all of my questions and reassure me that they would make the move painless. Whenever I phoned or emailed him with questions, he responded promptly and courteously. Wayne and his team did a fabulous job. They arrived at the appointed time, packed my mum's fragile things, took apart her bed, wrapped her furniture with great care and transported them to her apartment and set everything up. They even took some things out to curbside for rubbish collection. They were sensitive to the fact that this was a traumatic move for my mum who had lived in her house for 60+ years. Couldn't have been nicer! I will definitely be recommending Relocation Moving and Storage to my friends! more

I highly recommend Relocation moving and storage. I did my homework before deciding on Relo, I received 4 quotes from well known movers in NYC in the end I was happy deciding between Relo and another company. I decided on Relo because of their impeccable follow up and attention, not only from Mike our sales person, but from Tom the owner himself. Our move was somewhat complicated, it included a move within the city, a storage unit and another home out side NJ The team was friendly, efficient, speedy and very neat. They arrived on time all three days of the move and the owner himself called and emailed each day to see how things were going. In terms of price, they are not the cheapest, however they are fair and within the same price range as the other well known companies. All of our items, from family heirlooms to the bathroom cabinet were packaged well. Everything arrived in one piece and they reassembled all of the furniture. What made relo stand out the most to me compared to the other companies was the personal attention you (and your home) receive from the Relo team, which obviously comes from the top Tom himself being involved. This company is full of incompetent people who, without a doubt, will try to scam you, just like they did me. From the person who gives you your moving estimate (which is key because that's supposed to be a fairly accurate predictor of what your move will cost you) to the insurance claims person to the movers and lastly, to the shady owners, they are all dishonest, disrespectful, and clearly unqualified to be in the moving business. I CAN'T STRESS THIS ENOUGH: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I was quoted a price of approximately $300 to move furniture from a small apt. Actual price: $840- yeah, great estimate, right??? To make matters worse, merchandise was damaged and withheld from me; yes, the movers actually had the nerve to withhold items from me. And everyone plays the ""blame game"" at this company; everyone blames each other when something goes wrong. There is NO ACCOUNTABILITY WHATSOEVER. I have never seen such a lack of professionalism in my whole life; I am appalled to be honest. I sincerely hope this review, and all the others I will write on various websites, will help people NOT go through what I went though. My move was a NIGHTMARE, and I wouldn't wish this undue stress and frustration on anyone; I really wouldn't. Lesson learned: thoroughly research your moving company and DO NOT USE RELOCATION MOVING AND STORAGE IN RIVERDALE, NEW YORK. I hired Relocation Moving when I recently moved from a 1 BR apartment to a 2 BR house. They did a great job - very thorough and they took special care of my furniture. The owner called me during the move to make sure things were going smoothly, and followed up with me after the move to see if I had any questions or concerns. Overall it was great customer service. found Relocation Moving randomly through a google search a few months ago when I was moving out of my apartment in New York. I had called around to get prices for a few movers in the area but Relocation Moving definitely gave me the best price and said they could do it in the shortest amount of time. I'm glad I moved with them! They showed up right on time and were very friendly. Two guys came with a large truck and moved all of my stuff from my one-bedroom apartment, drove 30min away to my storage unit, unloaded everything into the storage unit, and they did all of this in only 2 hours!! This review is a long time coming. We moved to our apartment about two years ago and I was 9 months pregnant at the time so we made the choice to use movers. We were really nervous because we've heard horror stories about movers from friends. However, we hit the jackpot! Dave and Jordan were our movers and they packed everything up and got it unloaded in two hours flat! My husband and I were so dumbfounded by how awesome these movers are! Just like other reviewers said, they really booked it and never let up the pace. Not only that, but they were friendly, they actually showed up a few minutes early and introduced themselves. These guys are definitely good movers! They blanket - wrapped everything before they moved it so that everything would arrive in one piece.\r This was a big difference from most of the moves I've gone through in the past. I rarely write reviews but in this case I was compelled to. What sets Relocation Moving and Storage apart is that they work in such an intelligent way – impressive. I had a master bedroom full of large, heavy mahogany furniture with tight hallways/doorways and stairs with a number of corners - this made for a real challenge . Chris, Scotty, Brad, and Tommy figured out how to maneuver each piece out of the old house…. and into the new house without any problems (they took their time to inspect clearances often). They shrink wrapped the furniture in the truck to further protect it. Note that if you do happen to need it, they have a furniture finisher on call (nice to know just in case). Moving is quite stressful but they remained calm for the entire move which helped us remain calm. They were right on time. They worked hard, smart, and were very courteous.
