Reliance Recoveries

I had several hospital bills that had gone into collection- my fault. I paid them, and didn't know there was one left. Anyhow, to make a long story short, yesterday I got a letter with my court date for this unpaid bill. \r This is criminal- how are they still in operation? I would prefer to give them 0 stars - they actually deserve less than that! This company attempts to collect money that isn't owed, is rude and nasty on the phone, and extremely unprofessional. They obviously are doing this job because they aren't qualified to do something better, but attempting to steal money that isn't due and payable is criminal. I finally had to send in a complaint to the attorney general's office - hopefully they will be reprimanded at least! Cons: EVERYTHING - ESPECIALLY THE EMPLOYEES AND THEIR TACTICS more

I received a call from Reliance Recoveries telling me I owed a bill from May 2009. I KNOW I had not been to the Dr. in May 2009. I explained this to the collection rep and she literally told me-""too bad, we don't do research on the bills, we just send them out. You will be receiving a statement within 5 days. You can contact Allina at this # and check with them"". So I called Allina. Allina had not sent anything to Reliance Recoveries since May 2005, which had already been taken care of...I called Reliance back and was told once again, too bad, we don't research it. You can dispute the bill in writing once you recieve it and we will send you an itemized statement"". At this pont, I asked for a Supervisor. I had to call a different # for the Supervisor because apparently the Supervisor thinks she is too good to allow her employees to transfer calls to her. I left a message for the Supervisor who then called me back. She told me the same thing as the first girl. When I told her I called Allina and they had no record of sending anything to them since 05/08, she said no, no they sent it in 05/09. I told her there is no way that is possible as we have not been to the Dr. in May 2009. She had the nerve to tell me that you don't need to be seen in order to get a bill????Hmmm..nice health care system we have...Obama, HELP!!! She also went on to tell me that even though her company had given me the phone number to call that the person at Allina must be mistaken and just not looking at the right account so I better just call Allina back if I have a problem...You could tell she has worked in collections for way too long, sour and hard...YUCK.... serious bitc*..... I tell her my Attornery will be in contact with their agency and that I would be writing a letter to the Attorney General...opps wait, her computer screen just popped up and shows that the bill was from May 2008 and has been taken care of......WOW!!! How amazing!!! NO apology, no admittance of any wrong doing on her part....What a sad and bitter woman.....ha, so anyway, watch out, if they say you owe something-make sure it is legit before you pay it! Cons: Watch out-may not owe bills they claim! more
