Reliance was contacted by Whirlpool to fix a recalled part, free of charge, on our washing machine. The FIRST scheduled time, I received a call from Whirlpool 15 minutes before the end of the 4 hour time frame they were scheduled to be out. Apparently, the service tech was having car trouble. We rescheduled. The SECOND scheduled time, we contacted Reliance directly because the tech, again, had not shown up during the 4 hour time frame. The dispatcher said he'd be at our home within half an hour. After still no tech, dispatch said it would be another hour. Still no tech, again, the same story. Finally, they rescheduled our appointment for the following week. When the tech was on his way, dispatch called stating it would be Cash-On-Delivery. We stated it was recalled by Whirlpool and shouldn't cost us, they said we didn't know what we were talking about. They claimed to know NONE of the information on our problem, no model number, no recall, but SOMEHOW when dispatch spoke to the tech, he knew the exact age and info of our machine. Seemed to us that they were trying to get us to pay for something that was supposed to be free. Needless to say, we canceled the final appointment, called Whirlpool and SPECIFICALLY requested another company for service.
