Had a smiliar experience with my daughter. She was fitted for ballet and jazz shoes here. When she said they didn't look like the shoes other girls in her classes were wearing, we were told if they were the wrong shoes, we could return them. Of course, they were the wrong shoes and when I returned them unused, I was told I could only get a store credit. They do not carry the right shoes for my daughter's dance school - and they knew it at the time! Why did they sell me shoes they knew were wrong!!!! And they waited until I returned them to tell me about the in-store credit only policy. Now I am out $65.00 and my daughter has no dance shoes. Buyer beware -- very shady business practices at this store!!!!! more

I had a horrible experience here. I have been dancing for over 17 years and was fit for gaynor mindens. I haven't been ""en pointe"" for 5 years due to feet problems and decided to try gaynors because of there advertised comfort. After being fit and at checkout I said that I wanted some teachers to look at them and make sure they fit me correctly. They said it's fine and that I could receive a refund if they were unworn. (They were $138) I went to 2 different teachers and a friend who is a dancer for Carolina Ballet. They all were in shock at how horribly the shoes fit me. I must have been blinded by the excitement of being up on pointe again. The shoes were too narrow, gaping and literally falling off of my feet. Pointe shoes should fit like gloves. They must not have had my size at the store and decided to just sell me these. They cannot fit pointe shoes properly! But it gets worse.... I took extra steps to ensure they were in perfect condition to return. I went to return them and told them that they clearly did not fit me properly and I was sold shoes that shouldn't have been sold to me. I requested gaynors but if they didn't suit me then they should have let me know and not sold me something that didn't fit! I told them that when I purchased them that the woman said I could get a refund and return them if they didn't fit & said nothing about store credit only. They would only give me store credit! I was clearly upset and they wouldn't just give me my money back. When I purchased them NO ONE informed me that they only do store credit as a return. I saw no sign (if there was one, they should make it more visible). I kept insisting that I receive a monetary refund for the untouched shoes I was returning but they wouldn't. They gave me a flimsy piece of paper with 138$ written on it as my store credit. They should have recognized that I was fit poorly & wrongly informed on the return policy due to a worker's statements. It was overall a horrible experience. Take your business somewhere else! You can get better service, fittings and prices at many other places. more
