Rehabilitation Center

My mother died in this place in July 2009, after reading the accounts of others posted here, I am beginning to see why. I would not recomment this place either. more

This place is awful in all my yrs in the health care fieldthis has to be the worst i have ever seen. I took my client to rehab here after an illness. What a mistake my clients blood sugar had been out of control for a few weeks when she asked to have it taken it was well over 300 she asked for insulin she was met with a nasty attitude it took a few hrs to get her insulin. She is wheel chair bound and large she asked to be washed on her lower half at 2 pm @9:50pm they showed up washed her upper half put her in bed and said we are outta here. At 10 pm she asked to have her blood sugar checked they refused and she checked her own after they brought her her own kit. She let them know she was unhappy with the care the nurse on duty then threatend her telling her she would pay for this out of her own pocket etc she was then left with no call light finally my client called the hospital to get the number to call the desk. I could go on and on this all in a 48hr time. Needless to say we transferred here elsewhere quick. more

I would advise not working there or placing yourself or a loved one there for care. I do not say this lightly. more

i wouldnt give this place even a one star rating!! i have just recently been in the Express Recovery unit for inpatient rehab for a hip replacement and i was there for SIX days,and received maybe 2 hours of physical therapy in that time,so they pretty much set me back in my rehabilitation. I am 54 yrs. old so i wasnt an invalid,and also i was alert in mind,and asked questions! i didnt take their word for anything,and i have a daughter who has been in the nursing field,and she definitely looked out for me!! After one nite there,a nurse lost her job because of her treatment of me!! I was there for some physical therapy on the Rehab side,the other side is Nursing Home,and there was no differrence because i felt like i was in a nursing home,from the treatment i got there. I wouldnt recommend this place to my worst enemy,and i would leave by word of mouth!! One nurse even almost gave me wrong medication had i not noticed it. Several call lites would be on,and nurses standing around at the nurse's station. I regret not walking out of there after the first day because it was a waste of my time and money,and that place didnt deserve neither!! I feel for those who are in there and they need our prayers!! And anyone who goes in there,i pray they have family members who keep a very close eye on their loved one,and alwaysss question the staff there and dont take their word on anything!! I sure got a taste of what a nursing home is like!! more

We recently had a family member in the Express Recovery unit of the Independence Rehabilitation Center and have found the facility to be clean, sweet smelling and tastefully furnished. The care our loved one received has been thorough and has proven very beneficial after her severe injury. The food was very satisfactory and staff professionalism has been excellent. As family members, we have been treated with respect and kept informed on all phases of care. I highly recommend this facility for short or long term care. more

i would never put any of my family there. i strongly sugest independence manor care center is the best nursing home ever. more
