The Westhampton Cinema is without question, a Richmond institution. Located On the Avenues (Libbie and Grove area), it attracts both old money characters and new hip folks. The common attraction is the alternative film. It's a refreshing alternative to the cramped local cineplex showing the latest blockbuster. No matter what, you are guaranteed a thought provoking, get out of your normal box experience! more

A great local theatre -- they get all the art films! 8/4/2005

Tired of watching *blockbusters*? Want a good art film now and then? The Westhampton is the place to go for watching movies that regular theatres won't run for lack of $$$ -- The Westhampton was the only theatre in town to play 'Bend it Like Bekham' 'Frida' and 'The March of the Penguins' when they were out -- I prefer to see a small budget movie now and then and wouldn't know what to do if it weren't for the Westhampton! They have an old fashioned building with a very interesting layout -- desserts and gourmet coffee while other theatres only serve popcorn -- it also has reasonable prices for a movie theatre -- more
