I must be careful of how I word things here, for obvious reasons. Let me just say that I have a niece that is an attorney and she told me once that it's only 5% that give all attorneys a bad name. My opinion, Mr. Reeves gives that 5% a glowing comparison to himself. In a divorce that basically he did next to nothing; one face to face meeting (initial interview $100), sent 9 emails, received 20 from me (mostly repeated request for an answer to the previous email), 2or3 phone calls all less than a minute. And to date that service has cost me $2,991.98 plus the $100 consultation fee. Now the real kicker? I was the one that negotiated a non-contested settlement with my wife. His opinion to this settlement was he though I was to liberal and he thought he could get me more. What he was really saying was he needed to drag this out as much as possible to rack-up the billing hours. His secretary said she she enjoyed working there. She must have a very strong stomach is only my opinion.
The only other item I wish to comment on is that for 5 1/2 months I never received a billing statement until just this morning. This bill sent via email I assume was sent then because it indicates that my initial retainer of $2,750.00 has run out and that I now owe him an additional $241.98. It seems to me that he only has shown any attention to my needs when he is owed money or from one email where I questioned his knowledge as an attorney. I got a very curt reply within several minutes from his Blackberry informing me of his credentials. Which by the way weren't all that impressive.
