My son started at Red Tiger Dojo at age four. He is now 7 and has a firm grasp of the elements of shotokan karate. However, I am even more impressed with the way that the instructors at Red Tiger Dojo have taught him how to be a productive member of a community. The Dojo attracts students of all ages and all backgrounds, yet, to a one, they are kind, respectful, confident citizens. And they don't all start out that way. My son had a long way to go in terms of how to handle self-defense issues without dissolving, tattling, or holding grudges. The instructors, and the other students, have been profoundly helpful.\r

Also, while karate might at first seem to be an individual endeavor, the students learn important lessons in teamwork and also in supporting others. Every student's milestones are celebrated. Younger siblings are welcomed and loved. \r

Prices are competitive, but I believe that the value is outrageously good, because of the values of the family that operates the dojo and the families of the students who learn there. The instructors are first rate, and safety, both in and out of the dojo, is a high priority.\r

Red Tiger also offers cardio classes and self defense instruction. I have not personally done the cardio, but the self defense classes are informative, useful, and a lot of fun. Go! You'll love it!
Pros: Quality and content of instruction, facility, value, personal attention
