Try Gray Line's Mountain Parks Tour out of Denver hotels or Cherry Creek Mall. A good way to see local points of interest including Red Rocks.

Foreigner and Styx with special guest Kansas Cons: uninspiring

Editorial review from Citysearch 9/23/2013

If you ever get an opportunity to attend a concert here, go! The acoustics and scenery alone are worth it. This is a must-see in Colorado. more

great sound, great ambiance 8/3/2007

This place is beautiful and concerts sound great. The show will go on rain or shine, so ALWAYS bring a rain poncho if the sky is cloudy, even if it doesn't look like rain. We all know that evening showers in the summertime are the norm rather than the exception in the foothills. If you get unexpectedly rained on, red rocks sells cheapie ponchos for $5 at the stand where they sell concert tee shirts. If it's dry, you may want to bring a blanket or stadium seat cushion to sit on. They have basic stadium food for dinner such as pizza, hotdogs, nachos, etc. Beer ranges about $6 to $8 a cup. Bathrooms were clean and had real flush toilets. If you're in the upper half of the stadium, there are ""real"" bathrooms in the visitor center up at the top, with no wait time even for the women. All in all, a great experience even in spite of the frequent rain showers. Pros: great sound and great ambiance Cons: the rain factor more

Breathtaking views 9/12/2002

Everyone who comes to visit me in Denver is treated to a visit to Red Rocks and most are left speachless. Even if you don't go for a concert, there are breathtaking views of Denver and the foothills to be enjoyed. Pros: Views of the city, Accoustics Cons: Can be expensive, The hike more

Otherworldly 9/3/2002

What a fabulous place IF the weather is good, and the band is psyched. Have found the sound a bit too low on one recent occasion (Lyle Lovett and his Large band). Good tailgating potential in the parking lot, with the back-up band's sound in the background. It's easy to occasionally lose the music when one takes in one's surroundings. Pros: Scenery/ambiance, Location close to Den, Uniqueness Cons: benches, Best seats not reserv, The schlep more

Hands down, Red Rocks rules 8/29/2002

In a league of its own, courtesy of Mother Nature. The ambience fits the true definition of awesome, and performers love to play here, so the music seems to have a more special quality, too. more

Rockin' in the Rockies 7/22/2002

Red Rocks is an amazing venue. After just a short drive West of Denver, a magical experience awaits you nestled in between the giant natural red rock formations. As the sun goes down, the stars come out to play...literally. Some of my favorite Red Rocks concerts have been Chris Isaak, Ben Harper, Reggae on the Rocks and KISS, just to name a few. No matter if you are attending a venue or simply stopping by for a hike, Red Rocks is truly an experience promising to provide everlasting memories. Pros: Ambience, Sound, Staging Cons: Uncomfortable Seating, Walking up the hill!, Dark stairs & paths more

The Best 6/1/2002

How can ANYONE not enjoy the Red Rocks experience? The acoustics are outstanding--yes I have sat up close & in the back. Even when it rains (we all know that it rains most shows!) it just adds to the experience. I would rather see a band @ Red Rocks than any other venue in the metro area. more

  • In Short
Built during FDR's New Deal effort, Red Rocks is a man-made wonder that works in concert with nature. Get there before the show and take a hike; you might see mule deer, falcons...
