Pretty good, but definitely overpriced 5/12/2006

My wife and I just moved into the area and tried Red and Green for the first time tonight. The ambiance here is nice, and the service was very good. As others have said, it was only half-full at 8pm on a Friday night. The food was touch and go... The calamari was light and tasty, as was the cucumber and mango salad that came with it. The Devil's Roll was also very good - fresh and well-rolled. However, the ""Rice Paper Roll w/ Shrimp"" was basically a generic Basil roll. The Yami Yami roll was good, but too heavy on the sauce. The crab stuffed jalapenos were decent, but bland. Total bill was, with (admittedly) several drinks, was about $90 + tip. Not the end of the world, but considerably overpriced for the product. We'll be going back, but will be more picky with our order. Pros: ambiance, service, half of the food Cons: overpriced, the rest of the food more

Best Asian Restaurant in Alpharetta 5/10/2006

We tried this local sushi & tapa restaurant two weeks ago & we just love it. Everything is very detail form design, food & service. It is more upscale than rest of the asian restaurant. We think it is totally worth of the money. You can't find any other asian restaurant with the ambience like Red & Green. But I think this is not the ordinary restaurant for everyone. Only the true diner will appreciate it. See for yourself. Pros: ambience, creative food, fresh sushi more

That'swhy they are close for lunch! 5/6/2006

Food is sooo expensive and not worth the price. That's why they closed for lunch. The portion of their food is so small, most people need 3 portion to satisfy their appetite. Sorry, soon they may be close for dinner as well........ more

We are regulars 4/21/2006

We are regulars at this great local restaurant with a downtown Atlanta feel. George is a great host and will do whatever he can to be sure you have a great evening. The interior is very creative but often chilly so be prepared. The food is very creative - enjoy the tapas based menu and explore. The entrees are also a taste treat but seldom go there after the tapas. We highly recommend this spot. Pros: Reasonably priced, Creative Menu more

Tasty and unique 4/21/2006

Definitely give this a try. It's a drive out of the city, but it's unique. You have to be careful about what you order, so ask some other diners. I can't remember what I asked for. more

Sit at the Sushi Bar! 3/22/2006

My son and I have been bragging about Red & Green to anyone who will listen - - we've taken SEVERAL people here and all have raved about the sushi AND have actually become regulars as well. If there is room at the Sushi bar make sure to pull up a seat and allow Tim to work his magic (let him know Julie & Josh said hey). I promise you won't be disappointed. Pros: SUSHI, Tim the Sushi Chef, romantic Cons: a little pricy, not for large groups more

Excellent Elegant Pan-Asian Cuisine 1/24/2006

My wife and I revisited the restaurant for our Anniversary. They are only open for dinner nowadays. They do not serve the heavenly buns our silken tofu soup anymore :( But what they do have is a wonderful Asian inspired tapas and sushi menu. We had 4 dishes, one Miso soup (c'mon, you can't beat a $2 bowl for dinner anywhere) and a sushi roll (everything beautifully presented) and I had two beers and the price was under $60 with tip and we were stuffed and had a little to go box as well. Next time I will try more sushi since it seemed to be so well prepared. Nice service and attention as always. We sincerely wish them success. Pros: ambience, food more

Are you kidding me? 1/5/2006

""Gracefully blends asian flavors..."" This is very inaccurate. I do not see any blending at all- rather a hodgepodge of anything Asian that was researched in an off-the-shell cookbook by an enterprising businessman who thinks exotic-looking plate arrangements can make diners fork over lots (and I mean lots!) of dollars for food that can be had in an average Chinese restaurant. The only pro I saw was the prompt seating- as the place was half-empty on a Saturday night. Good luck. Pros: Prompt Seating, Quiet (no people), Nice Plating Cons: Too Expensive, Tiny Portions, Salty Food more

Never lived up to the hype and expensive pricing 1/4/2006

Before breaking out in superlatives about ""Red & Green Pan Asian"", I would suggest that diners try other ""asian"" restaurants- and there are many, in the Metro-Atlanta area. The bottom-line is that ""Red & Green"" is one over-priced, over-hyped restaurant. My wife and I spent close to $100 for dinner (without wine) and still felt compelled to pass by the Arby's nearby to ward off hunger pangs! I could have gotten comparable sushi at Publix at a fraction of the cost. Sure, the plate presentation was attractive; but this was not supposed to be a photo-shoot. I'd be among the many to applaud if this restaurant closes. Too pretentious. Too much hype. A major disappointment. Pros: Presentation, Location, Ambiance Cons: Expensive, Average Food, Small Portions more

little taste of heaven!!! 11/11/2005

I had a wonderful experience! Dont let a bad review keep you from a true find! The food and drink menus are absolutely fabulous. There is something for everyone to enjoy here! Pros: beautiful atmosphere, exquisite cuisine, attentive servers more

Now with Great Sushi 11/10/2005

Now R&G has added one of the best sushi chefs in the area. His creations are amazing... if you like fushion sushi Tim will blow your mind. Make a reservation for the sushi bar tonight. Pros: sushi, decor Cons: not near me, closed sunday more

no wonder why the only have 5.5 of of 10! 10/11/2005

I just dine at here last night and was disappointed, food was luke warm, service was slow and We were the only one in the restaurant while we were there! Today, when I on citysearch and found that they are rated 5.5, Wow, I will check citysearch next time to pick a good restaurant. The previous reviews was correct. I should have never dine there. more

Real bad, not tasty 9/13/2005

I agree with the previous patron that this restaurant is not any good but serving bad food. We had order our entree but all turn out to be luke warm and heated spotly. It seems like the food was cooked in the microwave before it served. Service was slow even though there is not other patron in the restaurant? I prefer not to come back again. more

Bad service, food too salty, overpriced 8/12/2005

Food was atrocious - vegetables over cooked, too much salt. Lamb was ok but servings were too small. The ambience was very depressing too. On a friday evening we were the only ones in the restaurant and I could see why. more

You will not be disappointed 7/19/2005

A group of us tried this restaurant for lunch and we were pleasantly surprised. The service was excellent and the food was divine. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone---it has some of the basic Asian fare and also some other more adventurous dishes. I don't know what the one reviewer was talking about when he said poor service and the staff couldn't speak English. The staff was as pleasant as can be and their attention to details in their service was more than we get at Fine Dining establishments. Pros: great food, service, selection Cons: poor access from road more

Alpharetta's little secret! 6/21/2005

I was delighted to find this amazing upscale asian fusion restaurant right in my own neighborhood. The ambiance was perfect for our little celebration. The food was mouth-watering and reasonably priced. The service was knowledgable and friendly and the martinis were delicious! We have made it our new weekly tradition and I suggest you do to. You will not be disappointed!! Pros: excellent entrees, variety fro everyone, ambiance Cons: only location more

Upscale or Downscale? 6/9/2005

This restaurant is soooo small should call it a down scale restaurant... I am nor impress with the ambience , the food and the service. I gave it a Thumbs DOWN! more

What? upscale? real disappointed 6/5/2005

I can't believe the must be a joke, the seabass I have is so haevy in sauce and flavor that it tasted like chicken? The waiter can't even speak a whole sentence of english, the salad was warm not cold. the worst thing is they serve warm glass with a cold beer, LOL. Pros: no customer, no english, no good food Cons: bad food, bad service, bad concept more

Beautiful ambience and food presentation 6/1/2005

This is a spectular place. Once inside you feel like you've been transported to another world - from the fresh cut exotic flowers to the celing with stars. With variety of entrees it was a challenge to pick one. The food was fantastic - fresh flavorful. Awesome. Pros: Ambience, Delicious Food, Variety of Entrees more

george and mali have done it again!! 5/28/2005

Somehow the food at Red and Green is just as beautiful to behold as it is delectable to eat! The ambience is very romantic and it is so nice to know that there is an establishment such as this outside the perimeter. It is a true fine dining experience and the friendly staff and proprietors seem to make an effort to know all their customers and repeat business is a guarantee. more
