Does not back up installations 5/31/2011

In Sept 2010, I had a Goalrilla basketball hoop installed. By the end of winter, the pole was leaning forward by 5-10 degrees, and the fractured concrete pad was no longer anchored in the soil. I spoke with both David Gilles and Heather who told me that they did not put a warranty on their work. Their claim was that they had no way of determining if the equipment was abused, and that it could not have been their fault. They did this without looking at the failure. I had work done by Recreation Unlimited because I believed that their high price was backed up with high quality and customer service. I hope you do not suffer the same disappointment. The sad thing about this - it teaches you not to buy from a local outfit. more

Poor After-Service, Buyer Beware! 4/8/2011

We purchased a play set in the spring of 2010, 12 months later the finish is very worn, I called and asked them to recoat it, they will not do it until late summer (at a cost to us even though they admit the sprayed on finish it is sold with does not last), which means it will look terrible in our yard and be exposed to the elements. They also offered to sell me the stain for $38.00 a gallon and I could put it on myself ! We have several cracks in the main beam, they told me I would have to deal with the manufacturer on this, take my own pictures, etc., they were not involved in any way with manufacturing complaints. These sets are very expensive, so if you want the business you deal with to back up their product, I say buyer beware! more

Great for Kids parties 11/10/2005

Recreation Unlimited does sell outdoor equipment such as swing sets and play houses, but they also rent out rooms for kids parties! They are rented in two hour increments, and is the perfect amount of time to let the kids play, and enjoy a little cake and ice cream! Prefect for winter birthday parties! It can be expensive to have a party on the weekend, but if you can manage it during the week, the cost is not bad! But best of all, the kids have a great time, and are usually worn out by the time you leave! more

Fun times! 9/10/2005

This place mostly sells outdoor yard toys. Swing sets, play houses, basketball goals, etc. The swing sets are super nice and very well put together. I think they are out of the average budget though. They also do reasonably priced birthday parties. They have 2 party rooms. You provide your cake and drinks and the kids get to play on all the displayed equipment. We've had 2 parties there and attended 2 others. All went over with great success! more

great value for quality swing/play sets 8/5/2005

our neighbors have a playset from recreation unlimited, they have smaller kids and one on the way so it's a great investment for years or play to come. i looked into having a b-day party for our older child but it's a little on the pricey side for the smaller number of kids that we are having attend. it might be a better value for a bigger party in the future more

THE place for playsets! Great for parties, too! 8/4/2005

Recreation Unlimited has a huge selection of playsets. From $1000 to over $10,000, you're sure to find what you're looking for (unless of course you're looking for something under $1000 :p ). This is also a great place for kids birthday parties. They have a room for cake and ice cream and then the kids can play on all of the equipment. However, the store is still open to the general public during your party. It's much more expensive on the weekends, so consider doing this on a weekday. more
