I have just read a posting on yahoo by ""hotflower"" regarding ""The Reading Ranch"" and specifically the woman who owns and operates this program. One does not have to read very far to realize this person has an axe to grind here, or nothing else better to do with their life. Much like everything else in life, there is this little gift we have, it is called ""free will"" in the world of business it is used daily as we consumers decide which service to use and which service not to use. If we do not like a particlular service we simply quit using it. I am certain ""HotFlower"" did not like the service of The Reading Ranch and has thus chosen not to use it. Which brings me to my second observation - When we choose to use our valuable personal time to attack in generalities, we are clearly stating it is a personal matter and not a professional matter. A professional with a problem with a service will give specifics and not generalities. As Ironic as it is, one of the general complaints HOTFLOWER mentions is the program having no structure from the top down. I have two children who have attended The Reading Ranch for approximately 1 year, and I appreciate the fact that it is run in a very laid back manner. My children go to a local private school and they get all the structure they can tolerate at school. I want this program to be one that is different from what they do in school, I want a different environment in which the children are allowed to learn in a less stressful manner. If someone wants structure, rigid rules, I would be the first to tell you - go somewhere else, this is not the place for you, but if you are looking for something less stressful, something that your children will not feel like they are right back in school (afterhours) this is the place. Both of my children have benefitted from this environment or I would not be writing this post. Another indicator of the personal venom being spewed in the reference post is the ""run down and not very appealing"" comment. Really, it was in a Church, in a place of Worship - good thing this lady never had to give birth in a manger! It was not run down, it was fine. The new facility is very nice. In my profession I assist approximately 800 Corporations across the United States in dealing with disgruntled ex employees - this situation is not much different, it is a disgruntled ex-client, who is unable to let go and move forward. My experience has proven time and time again, the people who feel it necessary to attack for no good purpose using generalities are unable to accept responsibility for their own actions, their own mistakes, and they are the proverbial victim in every encounter that does not meet their needs. I have not seen a post from her stating she has found something better, with specific reasons why it is better. These people never have a solution, they only have a problem that they want to drop in the lap of others, such in this case. I have no issue with anyone who decides not to use The Reading Ranch, each child has different needs and not all will benefit from the method of teaching provided by the Reading Ranch. My children have and I am aware of many others that we have met through the year who will also sing it praises. Regarding the ""Blonde"" who owns the Reading Ranch - well I have to tell you, our children love her and do not fuss about having to go to tutoring and that is good enough for me!
