I rushed to finish the last winter cut on my lawn so I could get my lawn mower and edger to R.C.'s for winterization before they closed for the day. I made it by 4:45 pm and asked to have the blades sharpened and oil changed in both units. Estimated cost: $77.00. In a day or two, I get a call from R.C. saying the edger won't start and it needs a new carb. I said the edger was only two years old and it was running within an hour of my dropping it off. I asked how much for a new carb and the answer was $30.00. I said that makes it about $100.00 dollars, roughly, so go ahead. Weeks later I was in the area so I stopped by R.C. to check on the status of my equipment. They said it has been ready and the total came to $183.00. The cost for the edger was $105.00. A new edger runs about $70.00. Next year, I'll try someone else to winterize my equipment.
