Editorial review from Citysearch 4/1/2014

I do not recommend Ray's Custom Services. In my opinion, hiring RCS to build our food truck was the worst business decision I've ever made. In my opinion, Ray's treatment of us as consumers during this project has been a nightmare. Please check with Oregon Attorney General's office for open claims against Ray's Custom Services. more

If ever you have a thought in your mind to have a food truck/food cart built by Ray's Custom Services read this review prior to giving deposit.\r We contracted to have Ray Brewer of Ray's Custom Services build our food truck which we brought to him for fabrication. Ray was to outfit our truck with a complete kitchen designed for self contained mobile food service. When we first talked to Ray about time frame in which to build our food truck he originally said it would take 3 weeks and when we arrived at his shop in Boring Oregon to give deposit and sign the contract he had changed the completion date time frame from 3 weeks to an estimated 5 weeks. Per our contract (yes we signed it anyways) work was to begin 1/25/14 and was to be completed 5 weeks later (on or about 3/1/14), 3 weeks into the build out of our food truck we saw very little progress (partial particle board on walls and paint or sealant on them) which gave us reason to be concerned, when asked why so little work was done to date his response was that he had used all of the money given to him thus far for deposits on equipment, however, no equipment was present. Ray explained that there's a process and order in which things have to be done and ordering the vent hood system was supposed to be priority given the fact that it takes approximately 2 weeks from order date to be delivered, we later discovered that Ray ordered the vent hood on the same day we questioned him. \r Since that day, we felt compelled to check and double check everything he ever told us about our food truck build out and equipment, we discovered other discrepancies that led us to investigate he and his business online and Ohh Boy....we found a bevy of negative information that sounded all too familiar.\r \r He will tell you one thing and after he gets your money and you're committed, the lies, excuses, and delay tactics begin to surface. There was a signed addendum to the original contract giving Ray an extra week with new completion date 3/7/14 and penalties in the amount of $250.00 per day thereafter coming out of remaining balance. \r \r We are now 7 1/2 weeks (53 days) into the project and we still do not have a completed food truck, nor and appointment on the books with Labor and Industries, agency that will inspect his work and give final approval and insignia allowing us to operate, Ray has avoided calls from Labor and Industries, avoids calls, text, and emails from us and when we show up at his shop there's no sign of Ray, our truck, or any activity what-so-ever. \r WARNING WARNING BEWARE of RAY'S CUSTOM SERVICES!!!!!!!!!!! more
