I love Dr. Rawtani and have been a patient for 12 years now. She delivered my son which was an excellent experience. When I have my appointments I get her undivided attention. Her appointments are made close and they are usually short, but for an OBGYN she needs to make time to see all her patients that need her. I have never left her office with unanswered questions or feeling like I didn't get the most out of my visit. Even though her appointments are usually short so she can stay on schedule, if I had an issue or additional concerns she would take the time to discuss things with me. My sister and my sister in law also go to Dr. Rawtani, and she has delivered 5 children between the 3 of us. more

I don't know how anyone can like her. If you want to get howled at, then definitely she is the one. But if you want a good, caring doctor whose primary concern is patient care and not money, then stay miles away from her. more

I was recommended to Dr. Rawtani by a coworker after finding out I was pregnant. I felt very comfortable throughout my ENTIRE pregnancy!!! She was very attentive to everything that was going on with me (I had a complicated pregnancy). There was one time that I went to her office and my appointment was cancelled b/c she was indelivery, but I didn't mind b/c I knew my day would come and if was comforting knowing that when her patient goes into labor, she stops and attend to that patient. Also, I had a c-section which was one of about 5 c-sections she had in one day with 2 or 3 other deliveries. I loved her and St. Joseph's Medical Center and even though I have since moved to the DC area, she is still my GYN and if I have another baby, I will be making the hour trip for her to be my doctor!!! more

Why do people like her so much? I found her to be extremely ""brief"" in my appointments. I am expecting my first child and had quite a few questions, but when I asked them I felt like I was rushed to do so. I talked so fast in her appointment that I got dizzy! I've been seeing Dr. Rawtani for 3 years now. My sister sees her as well as my sister in law. I've never had a problem. Any time I've needed anything, her staff did it in a timely manner. I have no problems getting an appointment, I can usually get one the same with in which I call and my appts have never been cancelled. Dr. Rawtani had delived my sister's 2 children and my sister in laws 2 children, they both love her. She remembers my family by name, is caring, answers all my questions and makes me feel as ease. Before going to see Dr. Rawtani, I didn't see a GYN for 3 years b/c of the bad experience I had @ my first GYN visit (not with Dr. Rawtani). I am so glad to have found her! I have no anxiety before my appt. Yes, there is sometimes a wait....but I try to make my appt her first one of the day and the wait isn't as long. As they say ""good things are woth waiting for"" and she is it. Isn't a packed office/business a sign of something good? People are lined up to see her! I don't mind waiting when the care is wonderful. Aren't pap smears a routine thing for annual visits? Abnormal cells are noted not only from a STD, but also from things like cervical cancer, something that has nothing to do with being sexually active. Dr. Rawtani calls me personally with my lab results (unless everything is normal). I have yet to meet any Doctor that calls you personally to let you know your results were normal. If anything, they have the Staff call, if that. Dr. Rawtani has called me @ 8pm before, the poor Woman is stuck making calls @ 8pm when she should be home with her family, she's commited, that's for sure. My only regret is not seeing her sooner! I hope she doesn't plan to retire anytime soon. BTW, who cares what your insurance gets billed for? As long as you don't have to pay it. They can bill my insurance for what ever they want, for the cost of it, I like to get my monies worth anyway. I recommend Dr. Rawtani to anyone. Wow! I have never heard of anyone bashing Dr. Rawtani. I have been going to Dr. Rawtani since I was 20 years old. I am now soon to be 45! All the women in my family see her as well as my 20 year old daughter. I agree with the people who ask why go to a gynecologist and not get a pap smear! That's a routine procedure for this type of doctor/visit. I have never had one unpleasent experience with Dr. Rawtani and she has put up with my anxiety all these years. She knows how nervous I am and always tries to put me at ease. She is very caring, very professional, and knows her stuff. I totally trust her. To the woman who had a bad experience: ""Are you sure you visited Dr. Meera Rawtani?"" Pros: Very caring, professional, and highly educated Cons: the wait to see her, but it's worth it! more

I had my first appointment with Dr.Rawtani 2 weeks ago after it being canceled , rescheduled and totally messed up by her staff. The wait was long which is understandable for any gynecologist office given unforeseen deliveries etc. The office was clean. But Dr. Rawtani was totally money -minded, and rushed. She didn't spare a moment making me feel more comfortable before the exam or explaining any details to me. She did a PAP SMEAR on me WITHOUT consent . She had not even mentioned that she would be doing one prior to when she was actually in the process. This was unforgivable as this was a routine exam and she had absolutely no reason to suspect anything. Also this was my first pap smear and I am 'not' sexually active. So there was no basis for this other than the money she would be billing my insurance company. Do not expect any follow up, courtesy or letter related to your lab results. After repeatedly calling her office to obtain my results she did talk to me to inform me all my results were normal. No further clarification. And informed me that if results are normal - she does not call/write to inform the patient of the same. I was also told i would have to pay to see a copy of my results. My own lab results! But the front desk secretary had no qualms reading out my scores to me over the phone just based of my last name. No verification etc. HIPAA violated right there! Anyone can call and find out what your tests say as long as they can spell your last name. In conclusion, I would NOT recommend her to anyone. I'm sure you can find a doctor who at least treats you with a little courtesy, respect and has a passable bedside manner. Pros: None. She might be nice to some people. But isnt to others. I overheard quite a few women complaining in the waiting room, who didnt want to shift doctors at this late stage(pregnancy) Cons: Very Rushed, Did not make time to address my concerns, no follow up, did a pap smear without consent more

When I saw the negative review about Dr. Rawtani I felt compelled to write a review myself. I have been going to Dr. Rawtani since I was 18, I am now 36. She delivered both of my children. My Aunt has gone to Dr. Rawtani for over 20 years, she delivered both of her children, one of whom is 21 and now goes to Dr. Rawtani, my mother goes to Dr. Rawtani, I have friends that go to Dr. Rawtani. You get my point, I think she is a GREAT doctor. She is a compassionate doctor who cares about her patients. She remembers my husband's name, my children's names. She is great at what she does. Her exams are thorough. I don't understand why a person would go to a gynecologist if they did not expect and or want a pap smear! As for your results, ever heard no news is good news, she has a lot of patients and can't call everyone with the good news that you are fine. If you do have a problem with test she does personally call you back and explains the results and the next steps, she did this for me when I had some abnormal test results when I was pregnant with my children. As for her being money hungry...I just don't see it. I have had to wait for Dr. Rawtani before but hey, she does deliver babies and there is no set schedule for that. I would highly recommend Dr. Rawtani, she is a wonderful, caring, excellent doctor. Dr. Rawtani is excellent. For a normal patient visit, it is typical to get a PAP smear if you haven't seen a doctor for a while even if you are not sexually active. It is for health reasons and it is a preventive screening. You also had the option to refuse a screening, but not sure why you went to a gynecologist if you won't even get a pap smear done. If you are normal and everything should have gone to a primary internist for a general physical. Gynecologists can't look at you and tell how your internal organs are doing. . Also the way the American Medical system works, unless you had a serious problem, doctors don't spend more than 15 minutes. That's the system not her. You will find that to be the case everywhere. If you have a serious problem, I have found Dr. Rawtani calls you day or night and is available day or night for serious issues. Additionally, not aware if you know - as far as money minded - PAP smears do not make a lot of money - Dr. Rawtani will be luckey if she makes even more than $20 on that. If she was moneyminded, she would have made you get ultrasound and billed you for it - that would have rooked you out of more money. If you aren't prepared to go to a gynecologist for an exam then don't go and write a bad review for her doing her job. I strongly disagree with the prior review. Dr. Rawtani is an excellent doctor. She diagnosed with me something that the emergency room missed three times. She has always made me feel very comfortable. She does not rush, but is very quick and to the point. If she was such a bad doctor., why is there such a wait to see her? After she did my surgery, anytime I needed her ,she would make sure she called me back that day. I have recommended two people to her and they agree that she is a great doctor. She delivered my best friends baby and was excellent with her. With respect to the pap smear comment, there could be something wrong even if you are not sexually active. Better to be safe then sorry.
