ravenwood is the worst place i have ever been in my life. let me start by saying i was happy to join the staff at raven wood this as a part of my clinical in my cna class this pass year. i say happy because i felt as thow me and my class mates were students at the time and we gave better care than the staff.the building was dirty and the smell was so bad.they had limited washclothes and towels. they had no soap no nothing. in my heart i believe most of the patints would have rather been dead then to suffer the way they were. its a shame that this place has to be a lot of these people last home i pray to god for someone to help them.oh did i forget they have no a.c its a hell hole.but a lot of the patients would say they did bad things in there life and now they have to live in hell. god bless them all. more

My experience overall with this nursing home{raven wood} has been a night mare.Those members of the staff at Raven wood nursing home should be held accountable for the way the patients are treated, and the way visitors are talked to . Why the staff allows the Patients to lay and suffer in pain Is the most inhumane thing I have seen in my life thus far. Why does society allow a place like this to function as a nursing home should be re-evaluated. I know that my loved one is about to die and I also beleive if raven wood would have taken care of my Loved one as a medical facility instead of waitting for the end of their shilt the time clock , and get out of there as fast as they possible can , they may have given him a fighting chance . Let me say that I have been to several nursing homes through out the stae of Md. ,as a visitor and an observer. This is the first nusing home that I highly do not recemend . Ravenwood nursing home and reabilitation center was a shock over the wekend . There was no air conditioning throughout most of the facility , especially in the patients rooms. There were no fans in the patients rooms . Yet, I did notice the staff had fans throughout the facility. Now I ask you , isn't that a little backwards? In Baltimore city they had cooling centers for the homeless and for those who are less fortunate. Yet , as a facility where there supose to be care and concern among the patients they can't see fit to the needs of these sick [and as far as I could see most disturbed patients]. ... ... In closing I'd loke to say ,if I were in need of this type of facility and Ravenwood nursing home and reabilitation center was my only alternative[501 W. Franklin St. Balt. Md.] I'd opt to stay home mand take my chances! more

In 2003 I was fortunate enough to spend an extended stay as a patient at Ravenwood. The staff at that facility were extremely courteous, kind and professional and helped me get back on my feet, physically, as well as emotionally. Not only was the nursing staff fantastic, but even the housekeeping staff maintained an air of professionalism causing me to think, more than once, that the various members were medical staff. I was extremely fortunate that the social worker assigned to my case was very conscientious, making sure I would not feel any anxiety over the expenses incurred for my treatment and housing and contacting my family members as well as signifigant other to belay any of their fears regarding my condition.
