Dr. Rao followed me through my hospitalization, which included 6 days in NICU. The care and concern went above and beyond what you would expect from a physican. He continues to oversee my recovery and advises me of the best healthcare options. You could not ask for a more caring physicians than Dr. Rao. more

My husband has been going to Dr. Rao for about 2 years now. Dr. Rao was the one doctor, out of many doctors, to pin point my husband's problems. My husband was in an accident at work and he has mild & moderate brain damage, upper & lower back damage, and neck damage. Dr. Rao is an excellent doctor. If you need to go to a neurologist go see Dr. Rao. We have to drive from Asheville to Charlotte to see Dr. Rao but the drive is worth it!!!! I have seen Dr. Rao as a patient, as well as 3 members of my family, representing over 2 dozen vists at two seperate offices. We found the staff to be courteous, very professional, accomodating, and sincere in their concern for our medical progress. Dr. Rao has the qualities every patient seeks in a physician, especially as a sub-specialist. He is well trained as a sub-specialist, listens to every detail the patients presents, he is compassionate and very gentile with his examination. He clearly explains the reasons for any ancillary testing and follows-up with patients when testing results are available (a huge issue for patients). His Physician Assistants, Physical Therapists, and technicians are always smiling and very compassionate in their care. I've trusted Dr. Rao with my own care, and that of my family. Staff is rude. I payed to see a neurologist and all I ever got to see was a physicians assistant. Although Jane the women physician assistant is the best one to see. I think she actually knew more than the physician. You see the physician one time only then physician assistants after that. Cons: EXPENSIVE more
