The greens at Rancho Park are terrible, and have been destroyed by rude players who never fix a ball mark no matter what. This once-great gem of a muni has been ruined completely...

Great Layout 1/23/2011

Great Layout, great condition considering its the most played course in the world. Not very challenging but still fun. more

Above average track, but still a typical Muni... 10/5/2005

Purely based on the golf, Rancho Park is the best value of any golf course I've ever played. It is a varied and somewhat demanding layout that is in remarkable shape considering it is the most played golf course in the world and the greens fees are only $24. However, I have stopped playing Rancho because the quickest I've ever gotten around 18 holes is 5 and a half hours. Most times it's 6 hours or more. Pace of play is so slow that it actually hurts. If you can't afford to play anywhere else, pack two meals and a book into your golf bag and mentally prepare for the longest day of golf in your life. You will enjoy it if you manage to keep your patience... Pros: Layout, Price Cons: Crowd, Slow Play more

Rancho Park Review 3/4/2003

The greens at Rancho Park are terrible, and have been destroyed by rude players who never fix a ball mark no matter what. This once-great gem of a muni has been ruined completely by willfully awful conduct of people who, in typical LA fashion, are incapable of thinking of anyone who might come after them. It's an incredibly sad place to play and a great reminder of what a bunch of jerks we who live in this town actually are. FIX YOUR DAMNED BALL MARKS! Pros: Great design, good value Cons: insanely slow play, rude players, bad greens. more

Longest, slowest round EVER!! 2/10/2003

It took 4.5 hours to play 13 holes. You hit, you wait. You tee off when there's a group on the tee and when you get to the fairway, there's a group behind you at the tee yelling at you to hurry up. Like there's something we can do about it??? My brother is golf nut and made the trip from back east especially to golf. Even he says it was the most frustrating round he's ever played and HE'S the one who made the decision to quit after 13 holes. It would have taken us 8 hours total to finish. FIND ANOTHER COURSE and enjoy your round! more

Great Deal! 11/19/2002

Great course that is open to the public. Good condition. Course is challeging but fair for all level players. Pros: Bargain, Good Condition, Friendly Cons: High volume, Hard to get times more

Good Public Course 6/11/2002

If you can stand waiting on every shot, Rancho Park is a really nice course. Challenging holes and a surprisingly well kept course make this well worth it. You have to be be an LA resident to play, and it's very difficult to get a tee time, but if you get on, and you're not in any kind of hurray, you'll like this course. Driving range is off turf rather than grass, but there are a couple of large putting greens to warm up on. more
