We received an activities catalog in the mail, selected a class we'd like to enroll our children in, and went to the website to enroll. First time participants are NOT allowed to enroll online and so we called to see if we could enroll over the phone. NO you may not enroll over the phone, you must come in to sign liability waivers with registration. We walk into the front door after parking on the street (horrible parking situation at this location) and there is a man on the phone at the front desk. He does not acknowledge us, it later turns out that this, laughably, is the supervisor. He continues to talk on the phone for 15 minutes without even looking at us standing at the counter in directly in front of him. It was INCREDIBLY unprofessional and rude. Needless to say, placing priority on a phone call regarding potential classes to a person standing in front of you trying to hand you money should've told me right then that this is a poorly managed operation. After 15 minutes, yes really, the assistant returned from her lunch break (it was 9:30am) and she began to register us. We had to sign 3 waivers, one for each of our participating family members. It was a lot of repetitive information and an offer to zerox the basic info would have been appreciated and time efficient, however this was not offered (honestly, the people working here did not seem interested in customer service but it seemed more along the lines of ignorance and lowered intelligence rather than trying to play dumb - it is actually a bit pitiful to watch). After handing her the forms, the girl spent the next 30 minutes trying to input the class codes into the computer. This isn't rocket science, but you'd think it was. The class was supposed to be a family for $95, instead she charged $95 per person. Explaining this and showing her the catalog didn't help her to understand the problem. It took 4 other people consulting with her to finally agree to fix their error in the computer system. That's right, they had been charging EVERYONE who had registered for this class the wrong fee!!! After more than an hour to register for this silly class, I left them with my credit card # and phone #, telling them IF they figured out how to do it correctly, to call me so they could process it. I received a call 20 minutes later and my card was charged. Today the first of five classes was to begin at 9am. We left our house at 8:30am to allow enough time to get there, find parking, and get our children inside on time. Parking was a mess, but we finally made it inside and checked in. They sent us to another building. This is where MORE problems happened. The other building was set up for a private party, there were not going to be any classes held there today. They told me to call a number and leave. I called the number (apparently the instructor) and got voicemail. I went back to the main desk to ask what was going on. They didn't know. EVERYONE IN THIS PLACE IS CLUELESS! They promised a refund for today's class, which I sincerely doubt they will accomplish successfully given their prior record. And now I am left with more than an hour of my day WASTED, paying for a class that did not EXIST, with not even the courtesy to phone the participants of the class to let them know they had sold out to a private party for the first day of class. Overall rating: F- for poor execution is absolutely every area. I work in corporate undercover evaluations and I wish this was a work rather than pleasure visit, this location needs MAJOR help in their management or it is doomed. WORST YMCA EVER!
