Editorial review from Citysearch 11/21/2013

I am currently in the process of reporting this flim flam operation to the proper authorities. If you have insurance or plenty of cash, then you will not see the side of this firm or the owner that me and my family saw. We were treated poorly and therefore I wouldn't let them bury another loved one, not even my dog. The owner, Raleigh Rucker, was so outdone with the fact that my family member qualified for an indigent funeral that he spent 20 minutes ranting (in the lobby, mind you, not the ""family room"") about what an injustice it was to him that the County would step in to help people in need. He even tried to weasel me out of additonal money even though the indigent county fee covers all of the expenses!! He said that ""somebody"" needed to pay him for coming out to the cementry and doing the committal. ""I need to get paid for that"", he said. When I asked who was he referring to since the County covers all costs, he piped down. The man is obviously in the beginning stages of dementia because he kept referring to the deceased woman as ""he"", which was very insensitive and rude. That's not the worst of it. When he asked me ""where is she?"" I was floored, since ""she"" was already at their facillity because his staff picked her up four days earlier. They prepared our loved one so poorly for the private viewing it was a crying shame. The clothes (a new dress)were thrown on and bunched up around her neck with a clothes pin tied clasped to the back of her neck. It was visible. We asked for light make-up only and lipstick, but they put on tons of the wrong shade. They didn't bother to trim her short natural hair. It was clear that they did the bare minimum for us. I should have known since Mr. Rucker told me, ""I'm still going to treat her the same."" I thought it was suspicious that he would go out of his way to tell me that he would not treat the remains of my loved ones any differently than a ""paying"" customer. . We opted to have a private family viewing and for a graveside funeral. I knew that the Rucker staff would be there and that they might cause a scene so I planned a brief private funeral (30-45 minutes). At the funeral, the staff hovered over the seated guests, standing on the sidelines, when they could have easily stood toward the back. They were a distraction, but from there they could whisper words to the preacher to hurry his sermon and not waste their time on our loved ones service. They summoned the preacher to end the ""remarks"" portion of the program before all even though we were doing good very good on time At the end, one of the men had the nerve to speak and thank us for choosing their funeral home and blah, blah, blah. His English was so poor, that his words sounded muffled and jumbled like he had a wad of snuff in his mouth while he was reading a script someone had made him memorize. The funeral guests are still talking about his poor presentation. In the end, God has the glory and Raleigh Rucker could not steal our memories or our moment, although they certainly tried.\r \r I wish that I never crossed paths with this business and I would not advice anyone in good conscious to darken their door step. more

Great Organization 8/26/2009

I can definitely say that this organization are not only about their business but they genuinely care about each and every family. They have serviced two funerals for my family within one month, they were always polite and very professional. Though it is always a heart breaking ordeal to lose a family member, Mr. Rucker made it a little easier to deal with. Neither time did i feel like i was at a funeral. More like a home going celebration. I am completely heart broken over our lost but his words touched me so much I felt no need to cry anymore. I would and will recommend them to any and everyone. Im even going to ask Mr. Rucker to officiant my wedding ceremony in 7 weeks. Great people...they feel like family! Pros: Everything! Cons: None at all more

Best in the business 7/21/2009

I can't say enough about the RRR Funeral Home Organization. This church & funeral home moved heaven and earth for the transitioning of our mother. The promptness was on point and the calls were very informative. They brought comfort to the family and it was very much needed. Rev. Rucker & family thank for assisting us during our time of need. We are grateful. Pros: No tricks, no last minute add on fees, Prompt Service more
