Rainbow Station Daycare

I HIGHLY recommend Rainbow Station Childcare. My wife and I have had our 20 month old twins enrolled at Rainbow Station for 17 months. We have had nothing but pleasant experiences with everyone we have encountered there. The administrator the entire time we have been going there is named Ashley, so whoever the “Amy” was that a couple of posters complained about, she is gone. Ashley has been nothing short of a pleasure to deal with. She was always accommodating to our scheduling needs and our boys adore her. The childcare staff has been WONDERFUL. They were with Ms. Dawn up until the time they moved on to the Infant 2 room and are now with Ms. Kim. These women are two of the most caring, wonderful, nurturing people I have ever met. I have never giving a second thought to my children’s welfare when I have dropped them off. You can sense the concern that every staff member has for your children there. They genuinely care about the students at rainbow Station. Perhaps it is like that at every daycare, I don’t know since mine have never been anywhere else, but I can tell you this: You cannot do any better than Rainbow Station! As for the people who complain about them “only caring about money” I can only guess that you were not paying and wondered why you were being treated “differently.” Heck, order a pizza and then tell the delivery guy you are not paying for it and see how quickly he drives away with pizza in hand. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t care about the you or the pizza, he just has a job to do at the end of the day and if he goes back without the money he will be fired. more

I looked at many daycare centers before settling on Rainbow Station for my preschool daughter. I visited this center numerous times and each time the director and teachers welcomed me with a smile (instead of acting annoyed). Lastly, I decided to look up licensing inspections on the ODJFS website. I was thrilled to see that the center I liked so much recently received a PERFECT Inspection. I worked in daycare briefly MANY years ago and I know how difficult this is to achieve and why I am so picky on where I choose to send my children.\r \r Since enrolling my daughter almost a year ago, I have seen new teachers and a new director. I can honestly say these changes have been for the better. The center was good before, but it's EXCELLENT now. My daughter has learned so much and has had the opportunity to make wonderful friends and create great memories.\r \r Rainbow Station is an excellent center and obviously in very good standing with ODJFS. more

I have had nothing but good experiences with Rainbow. The Director is very nice, and helpful. All of my children enjoy going there every day. They always have something fun and special going on. This is not a huge business, like Kindercare. It's small enough where you still feel like people listen to your concerns and genuinely love your kids.\r Alot of these revews seem to be from people who didn't like to follow the rules. A policy is a policy. My family is very happy here. more

I couldn't agree more with the last reviews written about this daycare. Dena Smith, the regional director is the most rude unprofessional woman I have ever meet in my life. My kids have went there for sometime now and I have never had a problem until this last month when she arrived. I truly believe that it is because i have title xx which is not fair. She charged me a $ 29 late charge b/c i paid the payment on the 2nd when my kids went to school, keep in mind they weren't there on the 1st. I bet she didn't do that to self pay families! Then she accuses me pretty much of being a liar and falseifying documents which is so wrong. She wasnt even able to talk to me face to face about the situation but put it into a letter and had my sons teacher slip it into the diaper bag. Im not sure if Dena Smith has kids or even knows what its like to struggle but Im sure she has no idea. Does she think that I just dropped off my kids and went out and partied all day or what? Just for the record thats not what I did I am currently a full time student at columbus state. But if that is what I did all day what is it any of her personal business ahe still gets her paycheck either way. Whether I pay using title xx or self pay Dena Smith and the rest of the rainbow station staff still get a check. Dena Smith kicked my kids out of daycare with no notice at all, I recieved the letter on nov. 18 and that was it. Now my life is turned upside down because of one person on a power trip. Where is the owner dosen't she/he check up on the people she puts in charge because this is crazy. DO NOT TAKE YOUR KIDS TO RAINBOW STATION! Especially if you get title xx b/c you will be treated like crap! But word of mouth does get around and I will let it be known how I was treated by Dena Smith. more

I have never in my life seen a daycare so prejudice and money hungry! If you receive title XX they treat you like crap and nickel and dime you. Someone needs to explain to them that money is money and there is no difference if they receive payments from a private pay person (who can bring their child from 6am until 6pm) or Title XX who can only bring their children a certain amount of hours a week. If combine with Title XX and co-pays they are receiving the same amount as a private pay how can the try to charge you a late fee ($1.00 per min) if you are picking your child up before they close. I work from 8am until 5 pm and when I got there at 5:30 they wanted to say I owed them $1.00 per min because I was late. Which for my two kids was $60.00!! This is because I drop the kids off at 7:30!! I wanted to get to work early! Granted you could try to get your case worker to increase your traveling time but that shouldn’t matter if they are receiving a full tuition for your children anyway. What if traffic is backed up, what if the weather is bad?? I have to jeopardize my life because I am getting title XX and you want to count my hours and make additional money out of me. I should be granted the same privilege as a private pay person and allowed to bring my children from 6am to 6pm! No other daycare that I know of does this and they don’t tell private pay people that they pay by the hour. Don’t take your kids there and deal with this prejudice company. And they will learn if you don’t keep your customers happy you will soon loose children and in the end lose your daycare since your money hungry!! Am filing a complaint with the state as well! I wonder if the owner even care how the staff she selected is treated the parents. The staff is rude and give a because I say so attidude!! They will soon see how word of mouth can destroy a daycare if they dont keep the parents and children happy!! more

FIRST THERE IS NO SECURITY CODE FOR THE FRONT DOOR, AND THEN THERE IS THE DIRECTOR, AMY. THIS WOMAN IS THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL DAYCARE DIRECTOR IVE EVER MET IN MY LIFE, MY CHILD CAME HOME FROM DAYCARE AND WHEN I ASKED ABOUT HER DAY SHE WENT INTO DETAIL ABOUT HOW THIS ""MISS AMY"" WENT INTO GRAPHIC DETAIL OF HER SEXUAL IN DEVOURS TO ANOTHER TEACHER WORKING IN THIS CENTER. I DID CALL TO REPORT THIS AND WITHDREW MY CHILD FROM THE CARE OF RAINBOW STATION, HOWEVER I AM UNDER THE ASSUMPTION THAT THIS WOMAN IS STILL EMPLOYED. SHE HAS NO BUSINESS IN THE CHILDCARE INDUSTRY WITH BEHAVIOR LIKE THAT. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS DAYCARE TO ANYONE, VERY UNCLEAN AS WELL. Cons: VERY UNPROFESSIONAL more
