terrible service from the customer service 10/7/2010

I had an issue with their Silk creamer. The batch that was dated with an expiration date of 11/22/10 is a bad batch. I had my receipt and went to the store to do an exchange. They were willing to exchange it for me but their service is horrible. The front dest customer service guy was irratated at everyone who calls. He did not like to transfer calls and says why do they not pick up the phone in front of me, the customer. I brought him the pint size Silk and the quart size Silk. I asked if he would shake the 2 and see if there was any difference. He just touched the 2 difference sizes and says they were the same consistency. Clearly when you shake both at the same time, the quart size is as thick as milk shake and the pint size is like the consistance of a creamer suppose to be. Basicly, he is saying I am lying and too picky. The very next day I called the company "Silk" and they told me that the consistence between the quart and pint size should be the same. Silk company is going to investigate on the situation. The representative says that the consistence is faulty on the quart size I bought. The way Rainbow grocery handle this situation clearly shows they do not value customers feed back. Rainbow clearly implied that I lied! more

Top of the line natural foods 1/12/2010

This is my favorite place to buy organic items, bulk foods, and supplements. They have a fantastic selection of bulk items, many things you can only find here in bulk. Good produce section, though its sometimes hard to find an avocado you can eat anytime soon. I also love the cheese they put out for sampling! I just wished they also sold meat, I'm not a vegetarian. Definitely give them your business if you buy organic. more

Rainbow Grocery 11/26/2005

I used to shop at the Rainbow Grocery in San Francisco but not anymore. I have noticed that the store is completely against Israel and I don't want to support such an establishment. Although they have better prices then other health food store establishments, I'd rather go to Wholefoods. more

Great Food Store 10/31/2005

If you are looking for a great selection of all sorts of food, this is the place for you. They have a wide variety of different foods to choose from, especially for vegetarians. Their shelves are always well stocked. All of the prices are pretty reasonable compared to the big named supermarkets. And their service is great. All the workers are very helpful. This store is one that people must visit to get fresh and healthy food. more

Not generic 8/23/2005

They sell a whole lot of stuft that isn't processed and made full with the junk you don't need in you body. I occasionally go there to buy some chocolate chips to make some cookies and their price on that is just fantastic. I went there once and went there many other times because of the quality. more

Great Organic Selection 8/18/2005

Rainbow Grocery offers a great selection of organic and natural foods. This is one of my favorite stores to purchase organic foods from because of their selection, their prices, and their workers. Their prices are pretty cheap considering the quality of food that you're getting. Their pasta and sauces are really cheap. They also have a great selection of wheat and other kinds of breads. Overall, I go get groceries from there often. more

Fresh foods 8/18/2005

Rainbow Grocery is a great place to shop if you're looking for organic foods. They have a wide selection and it's especially great for vegetarians or vegans. Their produce is always so fresh, and I don't mind that it's a bit expensive compared to other places. I like to browse the body care/cosmetics section for their natural products. more

Lovely Grocery Store 8/18/2005

Rainbow is an excellent grocery store. It's big, with plenty of parking, and it offers a wide variety of organic and whole foods. I can spend hours in here. They have an extensive selection of beauty and bath products (not to mention a section where you can refill on soaps, lotions and shampoos). They also have a great bulk foods selection as well. It's just an all around decent place to shop for healthy food. The prices aren't especially cheap, but they are still reasonable for what you're getting. more

Wonderful Grocery Store for Vegetarians and Vegans 8/14/2005

I visited Rainbow Grocery for the first time about a year ago when I first turned vegetarian, and although I did not buy much the first time around, as I was just looking around, I loved the place right away. This summer, after coming back to San Francisco from San Jose (where I have been living for the past year), I started visiting Rainbow Grocery again. It has quickly become my favorite grocery store. Organic items, vegan- and vegetarian-friendly products, cheap to moderately-priced products, great service, and so much more awaits you at Rainbow Grocery. The prices at Rainbow Grocery even beats many other grocery chains, such as Whole Foods and Trader Joe's, and Rainbow's service and selective is so much better. more

Organic politically correct products 8/11/2005

My baby just started eating solids and we decided we start with natural and organics food. They have wide varieties of what we needed. They even have some that are already made, which is just great for busy mommy like me. Although a little pricey, but that's what we have expected anyways. more

Ultimate Groceries For Vegetarians 8/10/2005

For almost four years my office was right next to Rainbow. I never got tired of the food. They have an excellent selection of vegetarian fare to go. My favorite has always been the KungPao Tofu salad. Rainbow brings in lunch product every several days from local businesses in the area. Read a label, those peanut noodles may have come from right across the bay. In addition, they have many tasty pastries including artisan breads and bagels. The produce is organic, so the best pickings are earlier in the day. They have a cute little gifty section which has served me well many times in a pinch. Cute cards and little trinkets for kids abound. Vitamins? It is all here. Recently went on a quest to find a pretty rare vitamin. Checked two other health food stores before I found it at my old friend Rainbow. more
