E-mailed before I went and my e-mail was returned the next day. One employee helped me select fabrics for a JMU quilt. She personally advised me on how to sew a JMU quilt, though there is no fabric with their logo available at present time. Got to pick out of the discount jar as if I were a long time customer. I really felt at home! If you are a veteran seamstress or a beginner, this is a great place to browse and buy. What a selection! Prices are reasonable and it was fun to just look around. Sewing machines were available if you didn't have one. Parking was available next door which made it really nice. Lee Lang more

Downtown Fabrics 8/17/2005

Ragtime Fabrics is a great place for fabric and sewing supplies. They also do commissioned work, alterations, and sewing machine repairs. Their walls are scattered with pictures of projects completed by customers. They have a great variety of fabrics and accessories at a reasonable price. more

Super nice employees 7/20/2005

They have a huge selection of all different kinds of fabrics as well as sewing machines and accesories. The employees are so nice and helpful and they offer classes on different sewing and knitting techniques. I like to just browse there for craft items to something simple that I can do on my own. more
