Fine management, polite and friendly 5/18/2011

I don't know what some of these reviews are talking about. Raford management is just fine. They're friendly and responsive, and as respectful as any management company around. I've lived in a lot of apartments over the years and had good managers and bad, and they are as decent as the best I've dealt with. I don't believe there is any management company that's a ""sheer joy"", but you can get a hold of someone anytime you need to even nights and weekends and they always take care of any issues quickly. I've never seen them do anything illegal or wrong. Of course they work for landlords, so who knows what the property owners on other Raford managed buildings do, but I suspect the people with really awful complaints are the same neighbors who don't pay their rent since their reviews don't sound realistic (and are not at all like experience). In every place I've lived it's always the ones who can't pay their rent who have complaints when the rest of us are perfectly satisfied. more

Great Living Experience with Raford Management! 4/14/2011

I had the sheer joy of living in a home managed by Raford Management Company for the past two years. Raphael and his friendly staff were great! They made the sign up process easy and painless and they were very clear explaining everything. While I lived there I was able to contact them just about 24/7 and even on holidays! I thought I'd get a machine but they had a call center to take my urgent messages! Also, whenever I had a problem with our home they fixed it IMMEDIATELY and with a friendly and helpful attitude! My wife and I have moved to Texas for work and Raford Management made the transition extremely smooth and were very helpful! They were flexible working with me on odd move out dates and postponements. They did everything to accommodate us and we are very thankful! I highly recommend them as a management company! Too bad they don't have an office out here in Texas! Thank you so much for making our lives in L.A. a little more comfortable and easier! P.S. I am a LEGITIMATE tenant and reviewer. These are my own personal and genuine thoughts. I'm looking at the other ""reviews"" here and it's very clear to me that someONE didn't take responsibility for themselves and had to be dealt with. Then proceeded to create 5 fake accounts and slander Raford Management's GOOD NAME and this sickens me. It's very clear that the same person wrote 5 slanderous reviews from 5 fake accounts. Just look at the same grammatical and spelling errors across the reviews. This person didn't even try to change it up and made the same FALSE complaints over and over. DISGUSTING behavior! Raphael and staff are NOT racist. His staff is multicultural and I am Japanese and my wife is Vietnamese so the claims that ""they only rent to Hispanics"" is grossly ignorant, slanderous and irresponsible. It's this attitude of irresponsibility that landed this person in bad standing. There is a clear air of entitlement in their reviews and behavior (creating false accounts and reviews). As a follower of Jesus Christ I find it deplorable that the person even created an account as ""Saviour"" in one of their fake reviews/accounts. God asks us to be honest and righteous. I agree with everything everyone has said here - they are a ruthless, racist, greedy bunch of jerks.... and that's being mild. They tried to evict me and 3 other people on the street at the same time so they could get higher rent. One just so happened to be an 88 year old lady. I took them to court 3 times over this - and won. That really pissed them off! Caught them in my house illegally twice. Pleaded with them to do something about the termites. They never returned my call. Eventually a window fell out. I fixed that amongst everything else. more

Terrible, if not entirely non-existent management 10/8/2010

This is a terrible management company. After many YEARS of pleading we still do not have a working air conditioner. The old one is built into the wall and does not work. Also we have no cold water in the kitchen sink and no hot water in the bathroom sink...and call after call is not returned. At one point we took Raford to court and won our suit and got our rent lowered by $118. But still they will not fix any of our problems with the apartment. more

worst people to rent from 2/9/2009

This management company does not care about anything. There buildings are all out of code and they treat the tenants like dirt. They do not make any repairs and hire people who do not care about anything but money. They are racisits and will only rent to hispanics. we have a sceurity door that no one can enter and they will not fix because, ""they do not want visitors to come."" They do not make repairs or return phone calls and will try to kick you out if they do not like you. Once they make ""repairs"", they continue to fix the same thing over and over. They are very rude and greedy. They will also keep any security deposit you may leave. Cons: many and everything you can think of more

worst property management 1/15/2008

I wittnessed them break into multiple unites without an appointment. They had there locksmith pick the locks as maintainance crew and owner waited. This is normal procedure for them. Terrible unethical company that ignores emergency repairs. They are greedy and evil. more

Disasterous customer service. 12/27/2007

OH MY GOD......This management company's customer service is aweful. First of all, when you call to complain about an emergency, they send you to so many voice mails, that it's rediculous. Also, they take forever to return the emergency call. The property manager yells at the kids planning and is very harsh when he speaks to you. I would not recommend anyone renting from them. Cons: Parking, landscape developement, no air conditioning more
