My older sister was going to be having her first baby, and I wanted to throw a babyshower that she would never forget. When it came down to planning the menu, I really didn't want to worry about me or my mom cooking all night before the party. My coworker referred me to Rafael's Catering. She told me that she orders from them all the time - for birthday parties, graduation parties, and even on Christmas. The first thing I did was checked out their website. What a very detailed website and easy to navigate around. The menu had a lot of entrees to choose from. I pretty much built my own package, the manager was very helpful in helping me choose the perfect menu for the occassion and also didn't charge a whole lot for the substitutions. Together, we decided on a menu that catered to both our family who likes filipino food, but also there were American dishes for my sisters' husband's family. The pictures on the website were definitely a plus, since it gave me an idea of how big their platters were. Boy was I in for a surprise! We planned on having about 100 people at the babyshower, and when Rafael's came to deliver the food, they brought not only enough to feed us, but enough for us all to take leftovers home. The delivery staff was very friendly and professional. One of the girls even helped me set up the dessert table and gave me ideas on how the rest of the hall should be set up. And when it finally came down to eating, my guests just kept raving on how good the food was. I am definitely recommending Rafael's to all of my friends and family. For anybody who is looking for a professional, customer friendly Catering Service, with not only delicious food, but also at great prices, Rafael's is the one to choose. A long-time family friend referred me to Rafael's Catering since I was planning to have a cotillion for my daughter. I've heard of them for many years now, but it wasn't until this past saturday that I have actually ordered from them myself. Joe, the owner, was super friendly and very willing to help me customize a menu that would be perfect for the occasion. The international menu was just right because it included menudo and pancit for the older relatives and mashed potatoes and fetuccine for the younger crowd. I have to admit that upon seeing the buffet line, I thought there wasnt going to be enough food for everyone. But I was reassured by Rafael's staff that there was plenty, and sure enough, I was proven wrong. Many of the guests were even able to take leftovers home. I made sure I saved some of the tasty pasta for myself! Needless to say, the party was a huge success! I will be sure to book Rafael's for my next party and so should you! I have been ordering from Rafael's Catering for years and have never been disappointed. I've hired them for all kinds of occasions - birthdays, anniversaries, funerals, cotillions, you name it. The menu includes a great selection of filipino as well as classic american dishes to choose from. Everything was incredibly delicious, not to mention AFFORDABLE! There isn't a catering service out that can beat their prices (as low as $8 per person)! Be sure to order the shrimp fettuccine though, it's to die for! Some of my parties had as many as 200+ guests and there was more than enough food to go around, even for seconds. I had my baby's christening catered by Rafael's Catering in February and was so impressed by the amount of food they give. They specialized in Filipino but do offer a lot of American food as well (their shrimp fettuccine is a MUST!!) I was really amazed at how much they charge, they start at about $8 a person, which was so much lower than other caterers I've research (most of them starting at about $13.99 a person).\r \r The staff was very friendly and booking them was very easy. They also like giving away a lot of FREE items as well, try their Beef Meatballs! The selection of food that comes with each buffet package is amazing. The food was very delicious and the variety of both filipino and american dishes seemed to complement each other. All my guests couldn't stop talking about how good the food was(espcially the Lumpia) and the Lechon is probably the best I've ever tasted! Probably the second best thing was the price. No other catering company's price comes close to Rafael's Catering. The staff was also very friendly and very helpful in setting up the equipment. The only caterer I'll ever use! One of best filipino caterers in the bay area. Not only was the food delicious, but the price is unbeatable! Very flexible and creative menu options. The staff was very friendly and they love giving away free items and discount their prices. I recommend this caterer to anyone wanting good food at a really low price. I was referred to this caterer through a family member and was very excited that it had some reasonable prices although I did pay a flat rate of $125 for delivery. After placing my order, I was told that I would receive a contract in the mail..never came. Then the guy dropped it off personally but, a few hours later he called to tell me he lost the contract. I had to recall the menu from memory and thought he would remember to include the drinks. Come the day of the event, there were no drinks so they went out to get store bought fruit punch. I just felt that it was not worth my money even though the food was okay. Just thought the service was a little bit unorganized. more
