Ask Before You Buy.... 1/26/2009

Bad: refused to refund my money. I know $8 isn't much but she obviously cared nothing about "customer satisfaction". I won't go back there.. Improvements: A new manager with a bit of common sense and a desire to satisfy the customer with resonable solutions to common problems.. more

Ask Before You Buy! 1/26/2009

Trying to get back online after a move, I went to RS looking for a power cord for my printer. They sold me one. It didn't fit. I tried to return it the next day. I had the receipt but stupid me, didn't save the cardboard that was stapled to the top of the package. The store manager said I couldn't be refunded the $8.00 for my purchase because just the receipt wasn't enough -- she had to have the bar code. Oh well, she couldn't be bothered to walk over to the display area and get the code from another identical power cord! I know $8.00 isn't a lot of money, but it was obvious the manager didn't care at all about my customer satisfaction. I won't go back. more

Stupid Me (x2), Stupid RS people (x infinity)... 3/30/2006

Just be aware the 2 Gloucester stores are franchise stores so rules are different. I bought a DSL line filter at Verizon's phone support's direction. I fixed the problem myself - It was NOT the DSL line filter like I knew but stupid me bought it anyway. I never even opened the package. Stupid me (x2) didn't take it back to the store right away... Well you only have a few days to return it. So now I have an overpriced DSL filter I don't need, and can't even get store credit for it. Thankfully there's a company owned store 2 blocks from my office. Guess where I go now? Stupid Me (x2), Stupid RS people (x infinity)... more

Eh, not great staff and weird smell to store 6/22/2005

I needed some rechargable batteries so I went to Radio Shack. I found the batteries pretty quickly since the store is well organized and has signs guiding you to what you need. However, there's a weird smell that I've not smelled at other Radio Shacks, just warning you. I ended up buying a dead battery (it would not charge in the first place) and had a fit returning it. I ended up contacting Radio Shack headquarters via e-mail and they said that returns should not be a hassle and then they sent me a gift certificate to buy a new working battery. However, I think I will use my gift certificate at a different Radio Shack rather than dealing with this one again. more
