was driving today in Fairborn and my car started making noise around my tire. I saw Robinson's and pulled in to see what they say about it. Rob drove my car a short distance then pulled my car around and jacked it up. He pulled the front tire to fine a rock had gotten up in my brakes. he removed the rock and put everything bad together, pulled it around, handed me the keys and told me to have a good day. ?? WHAT no charge?? ""Nope was not a big deal come see us again"" WOW talk about straight up people anywhere else would have charged me at least $50. I found my new mechanic and I've only been at this base 2 weeks ! more

I had car trouble and was looking for someone to repair it. came across these these guys and wow did I get lucky they towed my car in and checked it out. gave me a estimate of $400 for everything. I told them to get it done. I then called around town and for same work everyone was way higher, so I was wondering if something as up. Well next day got the call car was done and went to go get it, they hand me my bill and it was only $375.00 WOW even cheaper and they showed me my old parts and all Great place with honest people. Don't waste your time wit the rest they truly are the BEST more

Editorial review from Citysearch 10/18/2013

Wife's car had a bad wheel bearing on the front. Called on Tuesday and they quoted me a price of $149 plus tax. Made an appointment for Friday at 9 am. So far, so good. Get there to drop off the car and they asked if I just wanted them to install a wheel bearing or check it out to make sure that is what it is first... ummmmm.... ok... well how would you even know which wheel bearing to install if you don't check it out. I mean, I was 99% certain that is what the problem was, but I expected them to confirm with me since, you know, they're a MECHANIC and all. That will be an extra $55 to confirm that it needs a wheel bearing. What? You want me to pay you 1/3 the price of the job for you to tell me that you need to do the job? Thankfully there was a coupon on their website for free diagnostics... something which no one at the shop had bothered to mentioned and that I just happened to have seen previously. Whatever, so you go ahead and do your $55 diagnostic (which should take you all of 3 minutes of getting in the car and driving it around the block). They called about an hour later... Yeah it is a bad wheel bearing (thank you for trying to charge me $55 to tell me what I already told you and just wanted you to confirm for me since you are the expert and all). It will be $287 to have it fixed. WHAT? You quoted me $147 just three days ago. ""No we didn't"". YES you did. ""Hold on.... (the mechanic/owner? Matthew gets on the phone) Yeah?"" Yeah? I have no clue why you are on the phone... so I told him I was quoted 149 plus tax. ""Are you sure because she doesn't ever remember talking to you"". Really? Then how did I get an appointment for Friday at 9 am if I never talked to anyone??? (I could tell he was stumped). I guess we can do it for 149 plus tax... do you want to do that?"" Yeah go ahead. Now, it seems like it is fixed. I don't doubt their ability, but I do doubt their honesty. How is it the price to fix a wheel bearing was 149 on Tuesday and nearly twice that on Friday? Is it because I look like a sucker and you figured I wouldn't know when I was getting the shaft? I really had high hopes for this shop because it is so close to where I live. I am very disappointed in their ethics. I am sure they aren't too worried about it because they get a lot of business from the base, but I have lived here for 15 years and my mechanic sold his shop so I was looking for a new mechanic to fix all my cars. I was hoping that would be you because you had good reviews and were just down the street. If my first experience was any indication of how you run your business, I think I will keep looking. And lest I be accused of being a scammer by the people who seem to attack any one who leaves a negative review, I will be glad to send you a pic of my receipt. more

Best in the business!! 5/3/2010

I have been going to this shop for 2 years now and these guys are the best of the best. Price and service, you want the best the look no further than right here. No one make everyone happy but the last posting by Cautious1 is a SCAM PLEASE READ THIS POST and see my points. \r \r \r I find this whole story to be just that a story. Pros: They are just the best bottom line more

Best Kept Auto Repair Secret in Dayton, Ohio 12/10/2009

Though not having a large building, R. Robinson's has a few mechanics for their two-car repair center that remind you of the days when car shops took time with their customers. They are half or more less in cost than dealerships and places like Grismer Auto, but the quality is much better (they use NAPA Auto parts--not some cheap fill-in supplier). Great customer service, they can usually fit you in quickly, and they don't charge you more than the job actually costs. Their per-hour labor rate is $20-$50 less than the dealerships, Sears Auto, and many other places. If you have some part you need put on that you bought and no other repair place will touch it, R. Robinson's does and only charges you per hour labor. I've had several large repairs since I've been in the Fairborn area, and after I was taken by $400 by my dealership, I went to R.Robinson's and have gotten great service at great prices. They even take you back into the garage to show you what was wrong--not just tell you in complicated mechanic-speak. Pros: Best prices, services, and quality in Dayton area for repair Cons: Small waiting area that is cold in winter more
