It is a long story. The short conclusion is they are totoally a scam and avoid them absolutely. (The tech from this company is a very rude liar. He told us that the hot tub heater \r was broken and needed replacement. It turned out the problem was just that the high limit was tripped and it took only a botton push to fix).\r \r We just purchased a house and got a hot tub from the previous owner. The first time we turn on the hot tub after draining and refilling, we found the hot tub is not heating.\r The previous owner told us that she replaced the heater of the hot tub just two years ago and it was working one week ago. She gave us the receipt for the heater replacement\r and suggest us to call the quality pool & spa who replaced the heater two years ago.\r We did and a tech named Derek is sent to our house. He did some measurements and concluded that the heater was broken again. I said it was working one week ago and he insisted\r that the heater was broken and needed replacement. He took the old heater with him when he left because he said he needed it to find an exact matching model and also to check \r if the manufacture warranty had expired. Then someone from the company called and said they found the warranty had expaired and we needed to buy a new one which is 352 dollars\r plus installation fee at 90 dollars per hour and it would take them a couple of hours to install.\r \r I was still suspecious that the heater was broken and asked them to bring my old heater back when they come install the new one by email. Then Derek called me and said that\r they did not have the heater anymore because they sent it back to the manufacture to check the warranty. I asked why would you send it back to manufacture just to check the \r warranty when you only needed to call the manufacture. I insisted on getting my old heater back. He became very angry suddenly and yelled at me saying it was me who asked\r him to send it back. I said I did not. He continued yelling and said he's done. He hung up on me after I asked him to calm down.\r \r I then sent them email and asked my heater back again. They said they would ask the manufacture to send it back and I need to pick it up myself. The next day (the next day!!), \r they told me the heater is back! (just one day after they said they would ask the manufacture to send me the heater back! I highly doubt they actually sent the\r heater back to the manufacture). I picked it up myself.\r \r After that, I asked another tub repaire company to fix the problem. A tech was sent to our house and disgonosed the tub again. You know what, it turns out the heater was totally\r fine!! The culprit was just that the high limit was tripped!! It took only a button push to fix!! I explicitly asked this new tech that could it be just a mistake of Derek in his \r misdiagnose, and he said any qualified tech would not make such an obvious mistake and it was clearly a scam.\r \r I suggest anyone to avoid quality pool & spa for any business. more

Problems with reviews!!!!! 9/15/2011

We have responded multiple times to the two bad reviews we've received. The fact is..... after over 14,000 jobs completed with HAPPY customers these two bed reviews keep popping up because City Search keeps deleating any owners responses after a few weeks. Then City Search wants you to PAY THEM MONEY to become a member..............OTHERWISE they keep posting the same two bad reviews. We called to find out WHY and were told IF we paid $400 a month then we could HELP track and respond to reviews!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is a HORRIBLE business practice. When a GOOD company such as ours has done over 14,000 jobs and has two bad reviews that will never be erased and continue to hurt our name, then yet another company(City Search) tells us tough luck unless you sign a contract.....THIS is HORRIBLE and needs to be exposed!!!!! We always try our hardest to take care of our customers and do what ever it takes to keep them happy. That's why we've been doing this for 30 years!!!!!! It's a shame that City Search has the business practices that they do. If any of you would really like to know what's going on...PLEASE call the company in question and simply ask honest questions. Also check your local DOPL and search the company there. These INTERNET GIANTS are basically thugs. Thanks for reading and we hope you make good decisions based on honest facts. more

RECOMMEND HIGHLY !!!!! !!!!!!!!THE BEST !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I have used these folks for over twenty years and swear by them. I have given their name to all my family and friends who have pool or spa needs and heard back from a few who previously had other companies. It was great to know I gave good advice in chosing Quality Pool & Spa and I will continue to do so. THANKS Derek and THANKS QUALITY POOL & SPA....Hope you read this and get some time off, as I know how buzy you are.... more

EXCELLENT 10/4/2010

These people were GREAT !!!!!! I had to respond after reading others. Some people are definitely clueless and/or never happy. Let me tell about my experiences. I have been using this company for over 10 years now. 10 YEARS !! I have not only never had a problem with Quality but they have turned my nightmare pool/spa into ABSOLUTE HEAVEN. I bought a house with a pool/spa which was neglected for years. QUALITY POOL & SPA came out and did some prelimenary repairs, got them running and then over the years, have turned an old antiquated sytem into a GEM. We had them replaster, retile and install new top of the line equipment. All went fabulously and LESS than other quotes. We are SOOOOO HAPPY WITH QUALITY and would reccomend them to anyone. We didn't want a ""duct tape job"" and what we got from QUALITY was PERFECT, BEAUTIFUL, EXTREMELY PROFESSIONAL and TOP OF THE LINE. WE LOVE YOU GUYS. Don't let a couple angry uneducated people get you down. Thanks for everything. more

Terrible!!! Beware 8/10/2010

We called to have our pool opened, what we got was a ""tech"" who showed up took lots of pictures then called the boss. he then looked at me and said ""I dont know anything about your pool"" threw in four bags of shock we supplied then said that will be $90.00 for the service call. My second biggest mistake was paying for it, when I called Derek (probably the same Derek that wrote the review 2 under mine) the office manager to dispute the charge belligerent and rude is all I heard. Just so you know YOU WILL BE CHARGED $90.00 if they step out of the truck, It dosent matter if they do anything or not everything starts @ $90.00, I cant reasonably recommend this company to anybody, Poor tech service, even worse customer service and shameful a business practice. This is truly CAVEAT EMPTOR more

DO NOT USE-DISHONEST 3/10/2010

Overcharged, rude technicians (took personal calls, rude to customer, lied, DID NOT complete repairs and left saying it was ""good enough""). Drive time rates equate to $180,000 per year! They charge even if going to another call 1 minute away, or to luch...they charge nearly 1 hour to get to you! DISHONEST, RUDE, OVERCHARGE, NOT KNOWLEDGABLE, will not ""actually fix"" unless you ""authorize more time"" from a tech that couldn't repair it in the first place! DO NOT USE, call anyone else other than these guys!!!!! Pros: OVERCHARGE! Cons: Too many to list more
