I took my 2000 Volkswagen Beetle to Qik Lube for a simple oil change. I had been in once before, over a year ago, and had wonderful service and was in and out quickly. They did not even attempt to sell me things I did not ask for or did not need. I travel frequently so I have my oil changed at different places wherever I may be. I returned to Qik Lube and had the most unfriendly, dreadful greeting I have ever had in any establishment. The elderly lady behind the counter, stumbling over her words, attempted to explain that she did not think they could work on my car. There was one other customer in the building. When I asked for a reason all she could say was something about the "oil pan." She said they would take a look at it but she could not guarantee anything. A few minutes later she returned to say it "looked" as if they might be able to change my oil but they would not know for certain until they "got into it" and my car might need to stay over night. She stated that I would need to take my car somewhere else because they did not want the liability. She gave no other reason for refusing the service other than the "oil pan" and the fact that I had not been in for over a year and it had been 29,000 miles since my last oil change with Qik Lube. Throughout her "explanation" the lady stumbled over her words and paused so much that at first I thought she was mentally challanged. By the time she actually refused the service I realized that she simply did not want to perform an oil change on my car. I have had my new Beetle for 7 years and have never been refused any service. If they cannot work on a Beetle how many other cars can they not work on? How can a place like this stay in busness?
Pros: none
Cons: refused oil change on my car, unable to explain reason other than lack of knowledge
