Great food in Kenmore - don't miss this! 12/25/2008

We have eaten here several times and picked up take-out a couple of times. It is surprising to find great food in Kenmore, but this restaurant has great food. The decor is attractive and we have had good service every time. It is family owned and run but has some non-family as wait staff/bartender. The food is a little more upscale than typical Chinese restaurants. The drinks are inexpensive and the food prices very reasonable given the quality. Some of our favorite dishes are the honey walnut prawns (they know how to cook prawns so the prawns are not over-cooked), beef and broccoli (beef was very tender), Singapore noodles, crab-cheese wontons (not too greasy). If you like zucchini, the garlic zucchini special is very tasty. We'll definitely be back. Pros: really good food, good prices more

Good food, not kid friendly 12/16/2008

We took our two young kids out to eat at QQ and were disappointed to find out they do not have a kids menu. In addition, although the food is good, it is a little pricey. Other gripes: The music they were playing was totally random and on way too loud. Our server didn't speak English well enough to answer simple questions about the menu. We're planning to go back without the kids to try the sushi. Pros: Non-sushi items were good (haven't tried the sushi yet), The service was friendly, No wait Cons: Price, No kids menu, Mediocre service, Language barrier, Random music (didn't fit & too loud) more

Hidden gem in Kenmore 10/7/2008

Who would have thought? I was skeptical, but the concept sounded great so we thought we would check this out. Basically this is an Asian-fusion restaurant owned by a Chinese woman with heavy Thai influences. The sushi was excellent but a little overpriced. Everything we ordered was delicious, was presented very well, and the service was very good. The owner was extremely attentive (of course, our adorable baby may have been the reason why) and we had a great experience. Worth the drive if you are in N. Seattle. (we drove from Edmonds and would do so again) Highly recommended. P.S. I did find them on the internet at Upromise Check out that page for great photos and menu. Pros: Ambience, food, service. more

Food is good but need to work out the service kinks 6/8/2008

Living in Kenmore has made it difficult to find good sushi. I was so excited to see this restaurant opening up in what was a very shady looking Chinese joint. We went on a Saturday night 4 adults and two one year olds. The interior of the restaurant is quite nice and pleasant and the separate bar looked like an OK place to hang out but dark with no windows. We sat in the back area where our toddlers were unlikely to ruin other diners dinner. The food was good but the service could use some work. Two people ordered entrees which arrived quickly but the two that ordered sushi got their plates about 15 minutes later. When ordering the waitress said some find nigri sushi "scary" - don't use the word scary when describing sushi! The margarita I ordered was not made with fresh lime and arrived frozen - I guess I should have specified on the rocks with salt. But I think that question should have been asked - don't assume. Also the timing was off on plate clearing and water refills. But the food really was good so give it some time and I think this might be a restaurant that sticks around for awhile. One other gripe, they have no website. Why restaurants, especially new ones, don't think to have a website with the most basic info like menus/hours/happy hour details, etc. is beyond me. If money is an issue have a 13 year old do it for you. It ain't that hard. more

Friendly, casual dining 8/14/2004

The Nu Lite is a friendly, family run establishment that my family has been visiting at least twice a month for the last 5 years. In addition to traditional Chinese fare, they also offer American dishes for family and friends who prefer burgers and fries or soup and a sandwich. The dining is casual and the kitchen is more than willing to handle even the most unusual of requests. My only complaint is that sometimes the attached bar is a little boisterous which makes casual conversation in the dining room a little difficult. Pros: Inexpensive, Friendly service, Good food Cons: , Not open for lunch more

Not happy HERE 8/29/2002

I would not go back there. I have not ever seen a place that was so over staffed and yet the service and food was not that good. Been there two times and the second time was a reminder of BAD Service, and food. more
