My daughter recently used this funeral home for her fathers memorial service. I was very unimpressed. They did not seem to be very helpful in the details of what she needed. Her father was retired military and I called the morning of the service to make sure they had the flag (which they told her they would provide) and they did not have it and had to scramble to get ot there in time. After the service, one of the funeral directors came to the front of the room and told everyone the service was over and they were ""dismissed"" - like they were in a class or something. At the initial meeting she was asked if she would need copies of the death certificate and she said she would and paid for them. After calling a time or 2 asking if they were in, she was told they had no record of her paying for them, although her receipt clearly stated she had. After that was cleared up she was informed she could go to the courthouse and pick them up and they would let the court they were paid for. In the county I live in, the funeral homes obtain the copies of the death certificate and provides them to the families. The excuse for all the mix-ups was that she dealt with Mr. Purvis and no one else seemed to know anything about what they had discussed. It was requested that donations be made to the funeral home to help with the cost. After the service we went into the office to discuss the balance owed and see about any donations that had been made and it was like pulling teeth to get them to acknowledge that a donation had been made. I just felt like my daughter was treated quite poorly and dismissed as a non-important cient. She had just lost her father and it is reprehensible that they conducted their business with her that way. more

Fine Christian People\r These fine people performed Burial Services for my father 3 years ago and did a fantastic job. They made our family feel as though they were part of our family. Very courteous, caring, professional and respectful. \r Recently our Grand Mother passed away and her children chose Purvis. She looked so good. She would have been proud. They could have chosen others, but chose Purvis. When the time comes for any of my love ones to be placed to rest, I want Purvis Funeral Home to perform the service. I thank God for people like them.\r \r greatful grandson\r more

Worst Funeral Service I have ever seen! 8/4/2007

This was the worst funeral service I have ever been to. These people don't have a clue as to what they are doing. I later found out they are not licensed Funeral Directors or Embalmer with the State of Georgia and operate illegaly. ANOTHER NOBLE, GEORGIA Waiting to happen!! I found out there is a State Board of Funeral Homes in Georgia and they need to be made aware of funeral homes like this one! Pros: Nothing! Cons: Little biulding, body looked bad, no licensed staff that knew what they were doing. more
