Dr. Regina is absolutely wonderful. She has cared for all 4 of my dogs. She is compassionate and a God-send during those times when the tough decisions have to be made. I won't take my ""boys"" to anyone else. It is so easy to make an appointment or refill my prescriptions using the online site. Nothing but positive experiences on this end. \r more

Compassionate Vet 10/12/2011

At a very heart breaking time of my life, Dr Regina was a blessing on wheels. After 15 years of loving companionship a heart rendering decision had to be made for my 2 beloved beagles. Their regular vet does not believe in sedation first even though I was willing to pay for it. And then there would be that awful trip to his office where they would be agitated just being at the vets, and then the wait time for the vet to even come into the room. Dr Regina was here at the appointed time, asked to see my babies first, then stayed beside them to the last, sitting on the floor to pet them. Yes, I paid for her services but she could have just as easily came in and did what she had to do, would have gotten the same amount of money but she didn't. I have one dog left and when the time comes, if God doesn't call him home first, I WILL be calling Dr Regina to help him out of this world. My heart is broken but not because of anything this dr did, and know that if it had gone differently my heart would hurt even more. RIP, my babies. more

Great Vet 7/27/2011

Anyone with cats knows how stressful it is to get them into the vet's office for shots. So, with two geriatric cats, the stress on them and me was horrible. Finding Purr & Bark was an amazing discovery, and to have it run by such a compassionate, wonderful vet makes the service even better. She takes time to speak with me in length about my concerns, helps me understand the treatment options, and make the best decision for my cats. She is accessible, friendly, compassionate ... And considering one of my cats must be put under for even the most basic exam, she is also adaptable. I am so happy to have located her service, and those I have referred her to are just as pleased. I couldn't see me trusting these cats, or the pets I will have in the future, to anyone else. more

Great service! 7/19/2011

Dr. Regina came to my home after my cat had developed a small soft lump in his ear. She said on the phone it sounded like a hematoma, and it could be treated by draining it, doing surgery, or letting the blood/fluid reabsorb if it was not bothering him, and if I did not mind that his ear would turn crinkly. I appreciated the fact that she could have pushed for a more costly treatment, but said there was nothing wrong with leaving it alone, provided her exam showed that there was no downside in doing so. She came and examined him, and he responded very well to her. She said she found no underlying problem like ear mites or infection, and asked if I wanted her to repair the ear's appearance. (We both thought it might have resulted from a spider bite.) Because my kitty has had a minor heart issue and he is on medicine for it -- and he was not scratching it or shaking his head so it did not appear to bother him -- I opted for the least invasive option of letting the fluid reabsorb over time. She dispensed some antibiotics in a prophylactic treatment (prevent infection from developing). Her exam and care cost a fraction of what some other vets wanted who insisted (over the phone anyway) that surgery with general anesthesia was the only reasonable option. It was a very good experience and I would not hesitate to recommend her. more

NEVER EVER USE THIS VET! 7/14/2011

I decided to use Dr. Regina at Purr and Bark after watching the bills at my vet continue to climb. WHAT A HUGE MISTAKE! After my first visit where she seemed to shower my 8 year old Chocolate lab with compliments and make a huge deal about pretty he was I called in about 3 months later after my dog started whining quite a bit when I got home from work. After telling her about him jumping into the car and seemingly hurting his foot, she said it was probably a soft tissue injury. Well when I tried to move him to the rug off the hardwood floor he started whining like crazy and I could tell this was a lot bigger deal than a hurt foot. That's when I called Dr. Regina again, and she literally screamed into the phone, ""WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO!"", to which I replied, excuse me??? Then she again said, curtly and downright ugly, I can't do anything for you over the phone. I then explained I was just trying to update his vet so I better make a decision on whether to bring him in now or wait! She got even ruder, so I said, do not call me, you are no longer his vet!!!!! WHAT A RUDE, OBNOXIOUS, PIECE OF TRASH!!!! I can't believe someone who calls themselves a vet can't have a bit of compassion for someone who is scared and looking for answers for their dog!!! For God sakes, she's his vet and could have taken 2 minutes to give me some guidance on what she thought, but instead just like everyone else it seems, if you not giving her $$$ she could care less about your pet!!!!!! WORST VET IN RALEIGH!!!!!!! more

Dr Regina is NOT as compassionate as reviews suggest 10/21/2010

Long review, please read all the way through before you decide to go to Purr & Bark. If I could give zero stars I would.\r \r Mid 2010 my mom decided to switch to Dr Regina's Purr & Bark mobile vet unit and had nothing but glowing reviews after her first visit to the house. Her cats loved her, they loved that they didn't have to get into the cat carrier, go on a car ride, etc. \r \r So when my 12 year old senior dog was diagnosed with aggressive malignant cancer at the beginning of Sept 2010 I was beyond distraught. He was not well enough to battle such a progressed disease and I knew I had to put my faithful companion to sleep - I loved him too much to let him suffer. \r \r My mom suggested Dr Regina's Purr & Bark. He could pass away at home in a safe, comfortable environment. I could bawl my eyes out and hold him as long as I wanted. It seemed ideal. \r \r The actual event went as well as it could, I suppose. It was the hardest thing I have had to do to date - as anyone in this situation can relate to. For some reason I was overly concerned about his body going immedietely to the crematory. I just had this feeling, but was reassured she would be going directly to the animal crematory and that she would contact me when him remains were ready to be collected. \r \r A week passes, no word from Dr Regina. I call, leave a voice message, she never calls back. BTW, she only has a cell as her business phone, so don't expect to ever get her directly on the phone. \r \r My mom then calls, Dr Regina actually calls back. Apologizes, says she had a FAMILY emergency and was called out of town suddenly. Said she couldn't decipher my phone number from my message otherwise she would have called me back instead of my mother. Of course we understood, emergencies happen. \r \r I send her an email, my mother sends her an email. No email back. I call the next week and leave another voice message, clearly leaving my phone number this time. No call back. By this time it is 2 weeks since we had put my dog down. My mother leaves her another voice message as well. \r \r The next day Dr Regina decides to call me. She says she is sorry but she had a FINANCIAL emergency and had to use the money for the cremation to FIX HER TRUCK. My dog was in a FREEZER at her home, and had been for 2 weeks. And did I want a refund. What?!?\r \r I let her quickly know that he was to be cremated that day and I spoke directly with the animal creamation place and delt with them only after that. They were wonderful, BTW and were also baffled that such a thing had happened. \r \r If you love your furr babies as much as I do - don't go to Dr Regina's Purr & Bark. She treated my loving companion of 12 years with no respect or dignity. She lied to us and had absolutely no compassion for our suffering or grief or the fact that I was highly traumatized by suddenly learning of his cancer and having little time to come to terms with him imminint death. I will forever be deeply affected by this woman's actions, I will never be able to forget it. I still cannot believe it. \r more

Wonderful and compassionate 3/20/2010

Both of my dogs are terrified of going to the vet, but she can tune in and connect with them so quickly that my lab mix was kissing her hand and face right after she finished drawing blood. My other dog a pit mix was shaking like a leaf, she is so timid and afraid of the world, but Dr. Regina sat on the floor and rubbed her back and belly to reduce her fear, within few minutes my dog was walking around and trying to sniff the cat in the crate. \r \r I simply loved her, you can truly see the love and compassion she has for animals which I wish I could say about every vet I came across. \r \r I was touched by the fact that she had rescued a dog that had been abandoned and had him in the back room on a blanket with his water and food. \r \r I am so glad I listened to my daughter and changed my vet to Dr. Regina. . Pros: knoweldgeable, great personality, honest Cons: none that I could see more

compassionate, honest, helpful 7/1/2008

Best vet ever! Our cat had been throwing up for days when I called - she rushed to see him and gave him an IV with medicines for his nausea and pain...I've never seen an animal so comforted with a vet. She let us know that our previous vet had given our dog an 'optional' vaccine that often leads to allergic reactions in her breed (I feel even more betrayed by our previous vet as I had asked them about side effects as my childhood died as a result of medication). She got us on a schedule to minimize the number of visits we'd need for all our pets, and is always there if we have a question about a rash, bite, cough - you name it. I wish there were more Dr. Reginas in this world : ) Pros: compassionate, effective, knowledgeable more

Absolute best choice for a veterinarian- at your home for the same price as an office visit 1/3/2008

I loved Dr. Regina at Magnolia and now that she has her own mobile vet, I am so happy!\r \r Dr. Regina has such a heart for the animals she treats, and unique instinct, definitly one of a kind. She is conscientious of the costs and doesnt push unneeded services and treatments. I am so blessed that the price is not more than the office prices.... for the convenience of her coming to my home or going to her ""rolling hospital"". I also appreciate being able to see her on weekends. She is awesome, my dog gives her a big paws up too! Pros: Highly experienced vet that rolls her hopsital to your home- at an amazing price! Cons: None whatsoever! more

Very compassionate, so convenient! 7/15/2007

Dr. Regina of Purr and Bark is wonderful, as is her service. We had a dog who could no longer get in and out of the car, yet needed some minor surgery. Dr. Regina did a wonderful job, learning OUR needs -- not those of the bottom line! -- and worked on our schedule. Her prices are no more than other vet clinics, yet the convenience and ease of mind is invaluable! Her service gave us an extra few months with this old dog that are priceless. Pros: Convenience, caring, ease of service Cons: Can be difficult for routine items to set up appointments, as she is only doctor. more
