Wonderful Little Hardware Store 6/28/2006

This is a small, independent hardware store trying to keep its head above water with the rise of national chains sweeping in. They truly care about their customers and when you have a question or need help, they're friendly and easy to reach, whereas at Loew's or the likes, getting someone's attention is frustrating and difficult, and sometimes the employees are apathetic. They have all the hard-to-find items and goods, and if they don't, they'll order it for you. I will continue to support them; their service is phenomenal. more

Not many of these left 5/13/2006

With the major chains like Lowes and Home Depot coming into the towns, the small "mom & pop' hardware stores are becoming less and less.\r \r Puritas Hardware is one of the few small stores left here in our area. What makes them great is, they care about their customers and will do all they can to help you. They carry items that you may only need one of versus buying it at the Home Depot and made to buy a pack of that item. Also, they carry hard to find items that the big stores won't carry because there aren't enough people to justify stocking it. Puritas Hardware will. We went there looking for a skeleton key and they stocked it with no problem. They also helped us with a lawnmower we had problems with. Excellent service, wonderful prices, and more. more

Ma and Pa hardware store trying to stay alive. 6/8/2005

For quick, common hardware store needs this is your place. Nothing fancy, not well lite and has an odor. I patron them when I need something common to help them stay in business. They don't offer multiple selections of products and are usually out of things, but they try and therefore so do I. more
