Best

I went to Pure a couple of weeks ago and sat at the bar with a few friends because the dining room was full of people eating and seemingly having a great time. Our bartender, Sash...

Worst

1. Lunch on Friday is obviously very busy. Hostess called in sick and manager didn't have anyone fill in for her. Abslute nightmare getting seated as no one was working the sea...

Great vibe! Quality food with an 'original' flair! 7/22/2007

I'm absolutely stunned by some of the bad reviews posted here. Pure is NOT your typical run-of-the mill 'american' styled mexican joint that you find in local strip malls. If you want booster chairs (i.e., kid friendly), sub-standard beans, salsa, and cheese dip, stay away! If, however, you are looking for truly fresh and authentic food, go to Pure. Nowhere else have I been able to order Pozole, Ceviche, fish tacos, or Torta's with the right zest/style/flair that one actually might find IN Mexico. Pure does it! My favorite is the green Pozole (soup/stew) with charros (cowboy beans)! I'd love to see mole' on the menu soon. Yes, the place is small and it's always busy which lends itself to some 'service' issues once in a while. So either prepare to wait or plan your trip for mid-afternoon. Either way, it's worth it. Pros: Food! Cons: Parking is minimal. more

Avoid Like the Bad Seafood They Serve 7/8/2007

If you are looking for bad food, worse service, and a over rated vibe then this is the place. Meal started out with a bad crab cake, (could smell ammonia before it got to the table) server was unimpressed that the actual crab was bad. A manager never came by to say hello, in fact only saw the manager when we left - she was outside the entire meal (45 minutes). Food took a long time, people were seated next to us on either side orderer ed received and ate their food prior to ours coming out. Had to ask for everything, our server was more of an order taker then an actual server, and not even very good at that - ordered water no ice - got plenty of ice. Pleasant but indifferent and uncaring to the fact we were seated there. Chips were over cooked, fish was dry, mussels were old. Heard other tables joking about their meals telling themselves that it is usually better then todays offerings. This is not my first time there, but it will definitely be my last. Pros: none - Cons: Food, Service, Vibe, Room more

Great little taqueria 5/27/2007

I'm visiting from SF, and my friend took me here. The food was great, service average and drinks stunning. more

Worst example of restaraunt management ever! 5/25/2007

1. Lunch on Friday is obviously very busy. Hostess called in sick and manager didn't have anyone fill in for her. Abslute nightmare getting seated as no one was working the seating list. Pros: Nice atmosphere Cons: service, price, parking more

Great Escape from Typical Suburban Fare 2/23/2007

This is the type of place you would find in Mid Town or the Highlands. True...Parking is miserable and the seating cramped but that is why there is free Valet during rush times and if there were less seat the wait would be longer (and it is long enough!). The food is worth the hassle. Not sure if it is worth a 30 minute drive but for the younger crowd in the burbs this is wonderful. If I wanted bland, basic and easy I would go to On the Boarder. I don't have kids so not sure how they deal with little ones but I think they are trying to create an escape. Escape from the traditional suburban fare and I think they did a great job. Going here is an event...not just a meal. The only negative is that the sodas are in cans but you should be ordering the Margaritas anyway! more

Great Mexican resteraunt and the fish tacos are the BEST! 1/6/2007

Come here if you like a trendy little place with AWESOME fish tacos! Fun place for people to hang out. more

NOT KID FRIENDLY 12/17/2006

The food in this place is good but if you are a family they don't want to have you there. They have ONE high chair and by reading the reviews below they don't seem to care because this has been the case for almost a year. I think we should donate some to them. We went and complained to the manager who I guess really doesn't want children in the place. If you don't like walking to your car then this place REALLY is not for you. Parking is literally up the hill and around the corner. Pros: good food, good drinks Cons: very many - one high chair, one booster seat and NO parking more

Great Mexican hits the Northside 11/7/2006

Not your average Northside restaurant, great retro / funky atmosphere with a lot of energy. All of the food so far has been excellent. Among our favorites are the fish tacos, lobster enchladas and chicken quesadillas. The chips and salsa are very addictive. One of the best mexican restaurants in Atlanta, kind of a upscale version of Taqueria Del Sol. There is usually a wait for a table so be prepared to spend a bit of time waiting. There are a couple of good options from the bar, the margaritias are good (especially the pomagranite) and Schlitz at $.99 a can cant be beat. There is only one highchair in the entire restaurant so not real toddler friendly (a plus for some) but it is okay for kids. Pros: Excellent Mexican, good drinks Cons: Sometimes there is a long wait for a table more

Amazing mexican on a different level. 8/15/2006

Refreshing atmosphere....creative and fun, this Mexican restaurant is ""WAY COOL"" compared to so many boring and contrived franchises in Alpharetta/Roswell. The simple, yet ""out of the ""box menu offers Mexican cooked in delictable ways that makes you want to go back until you've tried everything. Best Queso I've had! Try the Shrimp Fajita's and Fish Taco. Good Beer and Wine selections, and of course, the margarita's selection looks amazing. Good service, amazing food, quaint atmosphere, valet parking, all on a tiny street tucked into Alpharetta. What more could you ask for when you feel like Mexican? Pros: Ambience, Valet Parking, Good Service Cons: No children's menu... more

Yummy Fish Tacos! Worth the wait! 7/7/2006

Charming, casual, and crowded! Expect to wait for a table in this quaint Mexican eatery. They only have a few round tables so a party of 5 or more will wait much longer. Their delicious margarita's sneak up on you. The fish tacos remind me of what you will find in California. Guacamole dip a must! Not such a great place for families, unless you go on off hours. My children loved the cheese dip! Great for a low key girls night out in Alpharetta! Pros: YUMMY! Everything was great! Easy to find! Excellent Alpharetta location! Cons: No Reservations or call ahead. Tight parking, but they do have valet in the evening. Not good for party of 5 or more. more

Good food and atmosphere, but need better service 7/3/2006

We were a bit skeptical at first because the lady on the phone said no wait but when we got there it was 45 minute wait. Then the bar was packed and only 1 bartender so it took forever to get some margeritas, but the margeritas were good. The atmosphere was great, with a more uptown feel in a small place bubbling with people. The fish tacos and chicken quesadillas were excellent. The gorditas are not the best, but this is one of the best mexican restaurants in Atlanta and we have been searching for a while since we moved from Texas. Beware there is only one vegeterain dish and only one highchair in the entire restaurant. So even though the service wasn't the greatest as our food came out same time as appetizer, the food was good and we would return for the small non-chain restaurant feel. Pros: Ambience, Food Cons: Service, Parking more

CUTE TRENDY PLACE, YUMMY FOOD! 4/7/2006

This is the only place in GA that I have found with decent, authentic Baja-style fish tacos. The posole is fantastic. I think they could do better on the chips, they seem bagged, The crunchy chip that comes with the posole would be a huge improvement. The salsas are delicious. Pros: food, fish tacos Cons: tables close together more

NEVER AGAIN ! 2/28/2006

For a restaurant that advertises as kid friendly you would expect there to be more than 1 high chair and 1 booster seat. Service was bad. Sent food back to be re-heated. Waiter forgot and then came by and asked if we wanted our check. I still did not have my food. Bad all around. more
