I had the Ceviche after being told by my waiter how wonderful it would be. It turned out to be a vegetable based dish, with only very few pieces of a mystery white fish, no shell fish, and no discernable fish taste. Is very nasty eat in this place because the cooks dont have any clean in their persons , one cook inside is very fat and i can see him never take one shower in your person the name is joan or juan , and all servers see mad every time . i go to this place with my family and all think this is the poor place we visited ....i hope never come back again this place is nasty and ugly ! We went to Pupu Lounge for lunch on a Monday afternoon. It was a little warm, so they offered us a table closer to the air conditioner (towards the back of the restaurant). They weren't very busy, but most patio tables were filled. Our party was quite hungry, and the special was a fish and chips entree w/fries and coleslaw. I think almost everyone chose that. Our server had said it made with a local fish that was buttery on flavor (can't remember the name of the fish). He also mentioned the coleslaw was very good. When our food came, we were pleased to see an ample portion of food on each plate. The food looked very appetizing, not greasy, and smelled fabulous. Honestly, I think it's the best fish and chips I've ever had, and I wasn't alone in that assessment. It was cooked to a golden brown, crisp and light, and the fish was very fresh (from that morning), tender and flaky. The coleslaw was crunchy, and had the most wonderful, light and tangy-sweet dressing. There were also several of our number that commented the mai tais were pretty good as well (I didn't have one, so can't say personally). We were there in the afternoon and the waiter could not remember half of what we wanted. Burger was over cooked. Waiter was more concerned with spending time with his co workers. Pros: Prices Cons: Service more

The service here is terrible! I've been to Maui probably a dozen times and this was by far my least favorite eating experience. There was hardly a person in the place and it seemed like it was slow for everyone and everyone seemed a little irritated. I could see if the food was good but it was mediocre at best. I agree that the prices are high, from a prior review, and it's really not worth the price or time. I read Maui Revealed and they liked this place, not sure what they were thinking this time because they are usually pretty accurate. We ate at places that were nearby that cost less and the food and service were much better. I can see why it was empty. i'm someone who usually gives someone a second chance but in this case i don't see a reason to, the entire experience was awful. Cons: Service more

We had just arrived in Maui and drove until we saw something that looked like a place we wanted to stop. PuPu Lounge caught our eye and it turned out to be a fantastic first night adventure. The food was excellent, our MaiTais were some of the best we have had on any island, and our server was wonderful. We were starving and it seemed to take a while to get our food out, but when it got there it was worth the wait. After dinner we walked across the street through what part of the park we could and enjoyed a sunset over the beach. It was a wonderful evening. Food is OK, but service is terrible. Prices are higher than nearby restuarants. Wait staff leaves much to be deserved. If your wish is to be neglected by the staff as you dine, then this is the place to go. It provides a wonderful view of a parking lot across the street. Pros: Food Cons: Price, Service, View more
