A week after someone stole my 7 yr old Shih-Tzu, I was devastated and so was my 5 year old daughter, and I felt compelled to purchase another Shih-Tzu, hoping the anguish would subside. I found the pet shop in the Bargain Trader, and got a beautiful description of a white W/ cream eared Shi-Tzu. (very unique). The cost $675.00 which was a little pricey but it was Christmas time so once there, I couldn't refuse. They also charged me for the chip and a $10 bag of Pedigree, which I just found out is the WORST food you can feed your dog. An older lady by the name of Karina, attended me. It was my understanding that she was the owner. NOW, she claims to NOT be owner. 7 days later my puppy has a serious coughing & hacking episode. Take him to our veterinarian, as an emergency, and Dr Perez, told me immediately that it was Kennel Cough, which came right from the pet shop. Cooper, the puppy, was a tenth of a point in his white blood cell count from having an pneumonia and extremely congested. Everything else was extremely high, and even his stool had phlem which is a sign of some bacteria. The cost 191.00.
When I contacted ""Karina"", the owner, she claimed that it was a simple cold like that of what a child would get, and that I should have intervened in his medical procedures to reduce the cost of the aerosol that was being administered to this puppy. She continued to contradict everything that the Veterinarian said, as though she was the expert. Even asked if there was someone with a cold in my house that might have given the puppy this bacteria, known as Kennel Cough. I assured her that dogs can not pass this to humans or vice a versus.
COMPLETELY IGNORANT!!!
Karina also claimed that she was completely protected by the contract because it was written up by an attorney.
I advised her that her contract said nothing about kennel cough and that her attorney probably knows about puppies' health as much or even less than she did. She hung up the phone. I just wanted to be compensated for this bill. Oh by the way when I purchased Cooper, they gave me a 'HEALTH CERTIFICATE""!
