I have suffered from asthma for several years and it has never been under control. In July of 2007 I became very sick with a lung infection that my regular doctor couldn't solve;which lead to me being put in the intensive care unit for 10 days.Dr. McCracken and Dr.Abraham worked dilligently to save my life and rid my infection.Now almost a year later I feel as if my illness is under control and I have the comfort of knowing that all I have to do to get help is just call. These doctors are extremly warm and caring and you know that with them in charge of your lung health that you are in absolutley the best hands possible.I thank God everyday for Dr. McCraken and Dr. Abraham for saving my life and helping me to have the chance to watch my daughter grow up!!!!! Our family had the very good fortune recently to obtain Dr. Gail McCracken for my mother-in-law's pulmonologist. My mother-in-law is a retired medical doctor herself, and I (her daughter-in-law) have been in the medical field for 30 years as a registered Medical Technologist. The turnaround in my MIL's condition since she became Dr. McCracken's patient has been nothing short of a miracle! Dr. McCracken is very thorough and leaves no stone unturned when it comes to finding out what is going on with her patient. She is a very likeable, warm, empathetic, knowledgeable, respectful physician with an in charge but very calm and personable demeanor. She treats her patients as human beings, not a chart number, and she LISTENS to her patients. Dr. McCracken cares about her patients, and that is very obvious! as a respiratory therapist, I get to work with the patients of all of the local pulmonologists and from what I've seen, Dr McCracken has all of the skills and attributes that I would want should I need the services of a ""lung doctor"". I had a friend that was near death from ""lung problems"" and I suggested to his wife that he try to get his primary MD to refer him to Dr McCracken, even though he lived a long distance from LR. Thankfully, he was able to be transferred to Dr McCracken and is now almost back to normal. There is none better than she & should I need a pulmonologist my wife is under instructions to get me to Dr. McCracken. Thanks Dr. McCracken...you are the greatest.
