Public Or Not 3/31/2006

If you are going to rent a storage unit here, please take the time to thoroughly check out the unit you are renting before you sign the papers. This place is known for roof leaks. And a lot of my belongings were ruined due to this, and NO insurance did not cover it...as I did not take out an extra insurance policy. Beware...if you do use rental facilities get insurance. Which brings me to theft. It happens. Make sure you have good locks. Yes lock*S*. You will want more than one on your unit. Also check out the fencing going around the entire buildings. In the far back, it looks like people have hung materials on the barbed wire to access the place at night. I would NOT go back here. I would feel safer having a POD or something sitting in my yard, where I could actually watch my own belongings. Although they do have live-in care givers at this PS, they are located in the very front on the noisy road, so they are not going to hear anything. This is not the easiest location to acess. There is no left turn when you are exiting as it is too close to the I-94 entrances and exits (highway). So you will need to turn right, go up to State Fair and turn around at the light. more

Public Storage 7/25/2005

Public Storage is a good place to use when you are in the middle of moving. They offer all kinds of storage areas with a variety of sizes. From the size of a walkin closet to a double garage. The smaller units are located inside of a building. The larger ones have acess easier on the outside. They do have carts that you can use for hauling for the inside units. Bring your own locks, or you can buy one from them at an overpriced price. Double up on your locks. Although they are gated and monitored, break ins do occur. Water leakage also. And they are not insured. You must carry your own insurance. Learned the hard way on this one. more
