Went to the Pub on Saturday, March 1, 2014 for a birthday celebration. Must say it was a bad experience. Took an hour for our meals to be delivered. Most of the food was cold and steaks were tough. I do believe the green beans were not fresh, but canned. Only good experience was the salad bar, altho it was a bit messy.......they need to keep it cleaned up. The lettuce was crisp and other items seemed to be fresh,. Needless to say we will not be returning and will not recommend the Pub to anyone. more

the PUB is outsanding and a great value.. whenever i'm in south jersey cherry hill NJ or Philadelphia i come here for the amazing salad bar and the prime rib.. the free zucchini bread and the caesar salad are amazing and FREE with my meal such a deal.. i love this place for the last 40 years Eagles Joel more

Went for a birthday celebration on 11/17 /12. We always celebrated birthdays at the Pub. With a bill over $500.00, it was the worst dining experience we have ever had. We were seated at 7:30,ordered our meals and waited roughly 2 hours for our meals. When we got our meals, they were all overcooked. All the steaks were overdone and the seafood tasted like rubber. The manager kept apologizing and throwing vouchers on the table. I used my voucher to pick the overcooked steak from in between my teeth! We will never go back to the Pub again. more

Excellent Food & Great Service for our Family XMAS Dinner 12/19/2009

We had a family Christmas dinner party at The Pub recently. There were about 50 or so of us all together. Management was sure to set us up in an area of our own; along with a fireplace for a more homely setting. We had excellent servers making sure there were no glasses half full! They kept the drinks coming and it was service with a smile. We all savored excellent food! The steaks were very tasty and such a nice cut. The seafood was delicious as well as all of the other features like the famous salad bar. What a great feast and a great time for all! Great food, great service, great prices! 12/18/2009

I just had a great meal with my family at the Pub, and I figured I'd take the time to write a review. First of all, our waiter, Nick, was excellent. He kept us laughing the whole time, and would go above and beyond his duties to make us happy. I ordered the crab cakes, and I'm not lying when I say they were literally the best I ever had. My husband had the 26 ounce porterhouse medium rare. It was cooked to perfection. The manager even came over and offered us free desert, but we were too full. If you ever want to have a great meal, stop by the Pub. Pros: Everything Cons: Can't find one, except the wait on weekends more

I love the Midevil Theme 12/18/2009

I haven't been to the Pub in a long time, so I decided to see if it was still the same. Sure enough, it was exactly the way I remember it. Great Salad Bar, Midevil times theme, great PRIME RIB!!!! It was so good, but I could only finish half of it! Pros: Knight and midevil theme, great food, huge portions more

What a Treasure 12/18/2009

The Pub is plain a simple a south jersey treasure. We've been going to The Pub for Years, actually, for generations now. My Grandparents use to take me there and now I'm taking my kids there. In these hard economic times, you can't beat The Pub. The portions are unbelievable, steaks, ribs,etc..... literally hang over the plate. You get some much food for what you are paying for. I can't begin to count how may times we've been there and have never had a bad meal. What a salad bar!!!!!! As you can probably tell, I highly recommend THE PUB. Pros: What a bargain !!!!!!!!!!!!! more

The best steak I ever had!!! 12/18/2009

I visited the Pub for a holiday party on Tues the 15th of December. First, I made my own salad at their famous salad bar. After that I ate the juiciest NY strip steak I ever ate in my life. I don't know how they cooked it, but it was incredible. The Manager told me that its b/c they are the only steakhouse that cooks with charcoal hearths. Charcoal hearths have been banned in restaurants, however the Pub has them grandfathered in. If your looking to eat a good steak and not break the bank, stop at the Pub. Most disgusting place ive ever worked for. 12/13/2009

I worked there for just about 3 months before quitting due to extremely unsanitary conditions. I was a server and on a daily basis I would encounter mice scurrying about in the kitchen and cockroaches climbing up the corners of the wall and across the micros computer screens. I witnessed a bus person kill a baby mouse and kick it under the salad bar curtain carefully so the customers would not see what was going on. Very unsanitary the food itself doesnt taste bad but honestly once you know what i know about this place that really dosent matter much. How did they pass health inspections? Pros: cool medieval armor. Cons: Disgusting unsanitary condtions. more

Avoid the PUB go to Manyunk for steaks. 11/22/2009

I decided to try the Pub after not eating there for a long time. I had high expectations because I remember the PUB when I used to go back in the day. The steak was small and did not have any flavor or the blackened charcoal flavor that I remembered. The Crab Cake was ok but did not even come close to the ones you can get at Bobby Chez. The bill came to over $50.00 for two (with no liquer,coffee or desert. I was very dissapointed and will never go back again. It's really ashame that this restaurant could not buck the tide and keep the past quality and flavor of their steaks. Pros: Salad bar Cons: Steak was small and had no flavor,aus jus gravy lousy more

hasn`t changed in over 50 yrs. a landmark 10/6/2009

y grandparents dined there,my parbbbbents dined there and we go there w/my kids.the food is great !not some crap that is premade like at the steakhouse franchises..I like the fact that the decor has not changed ,I find it interesting that I can go to a place and see and feel an atmosphere that my grandparents felt..how kool is that! Its nice to take my 90 yr. old grandmother to a place and have her tell stories about when she came there w/ my grandfather .People who are not from the area have a hard time appreciating that.I actually have a menu from the 50`s a NY strip was $2.75 ...it still has the same design on it ,it is just alot smaller.when they have a full house and all the hearths are lit it truly is a awesome sight.GOD BLESS THE PUB...we love you Pros: good homemade food,still looks the same more

Great Overall 4/9/2008

First of all to all the bad reviews, this is a steak house, not really a seafood house. If you want good seafood, go someplace else. The atmosphere: a lot of people say it's drab and outdated. That's what I love about this place! It's no cookie cutter Outback Steak House. It's like stepping into midieval times. The salad bar: come on, it's a salad bar, you get salad. What did you expect? Pros: Best Prime Rib Cons: Too Much Awesomeness to take in at once. more

Disappointed 2/23/2008

My wife and I visited The Pub for the first time with a group of about 10 couples. The atmosphere was comfortable enough. The salad bar was OK with a variety choose from. We both ordered the stuffed flounder which was dry and not tender. The twice baked potato was OK but not great. The green beans were tough. I love green beans but left most of them. I eat in restaurants four to five times a week while travelling and for the price, which is that of a much superior restaurant, the food was at best mediocre. My wife's opinion is worse than this. I wouldn't recommend this place for the food. Also, no wine list was presented and the house wine was expensive and so-so. I am used to much friendlier waiters. For $75 for two, I would pocket the money and go to Applebee's or Perkin's and get equivalent quality and probably better service. Pros: Ambience Cons: The food. more

A unique treasure!! 2/11/2008

I really enjoyed my recent trip to the pub. I had never been there before but had always heard great things. I must say that I had one of the best steaks I have ever had in my life. They cook the steaks on big pits right out front on charcoal which really seems to add to the flavor, it simply melted in my mouth. I got with my steak charbroiled mushroom caps, which were unbelievably delicious, and some sauteed onions. The salad bar was really great as well. I'm not a big salad person, but I do love pasta salads, and potato salad, and the salad bar was loaded with those types of salad as well as your regular salad. It was a perfect meal. The decor is unusual, but really adds to the place. The staff there was extremely nice and our service was exceptional. I can't wait until I crave another steak, i know where I'm going!!!! Great Food 8/21/2007

Our recent visit to the Pub was great! I love the open hearth cooking. My husband was torn between the prime rib and the baby back ribs - he went with the prime rib and said it was excellent. I had the filet mignon - I love knowing that it is cooked right there on the open fire. And a huge baked potaoto. Mmmmmmmm. My mother-in-law had the Balsamic Salmon which came topped with such a delicious sauce. She let me taste some and it was sooooo good - I will be sure to order that the next time. My kids loved the chicken fingers of course. Even the kids meals had large portions. The adult meals came with the salad bar and we each had plenty to choose from since the salad bar is so huge. The zucchini bread on the salad bar was fabulous - I had to stop eating it so I would have room for my dinner! The Pub was a great place for the whole family and it was certainly a great meal at a very reasonable price. We will definately go back to the Pub - I highly recommend it!!
