Prosperous Prospect, Inc. (PPI) is a non-profit organization founded in 2009 by Anita Jones. She is committed to being an advocate for children and youth through meetings, lectures, and seminars related to youth. Anita recognized a strong need for program that focused on positive youth development as part of PPI?s Youth Outreach Program. Anita recognizes that a youth outreach program would address many of PPI organization concerns and goals for our youth, which led to the implementation of the Youth Outreach Program at Prosperous Prospect, Inc. The program is directed for youth between the ages of 11 through 22. PPI?s Youth Outreach Program includes:
â?¢ Academic tutoring?including ACT preparation and other college entrance exams
â?¢ Recruiting young leaders from diverse communities
â?¢ Assist with leadership development
â?¢ Provide support with educational goals
â?¢ Prepare them for college readiness
â?¢ Offer various resources for college students
â?¢ Community and civic awareness
â?¢ Computer lab
â?¢ Health, nutrition, and fitness
Through the PPI Youth Outreach Program, Anita emphasizes the need to remain in school while improving academic performance striving to instill the desire to continue education beyond high school. Each member of PPI and its volunteer staff has an ongoing commitment to continue mentoring with demonstrated success. Prosperous Prospect Inc. will be housed in Maywood, IL. Our program serves a host of youth from 11 through 22 years of ages with a projected daily retention rate of 74%. This program fills the gap in providing services to this particular age group. Also, because of limited membership space in community organizations, many have no funds or have a waiting list.
Prosperous Prospects, Inc. programs increase the opportunity to serve as a role model and provide programs that decrease any risk factors that might prevent future academic success. I encourage parental participation, which has proven to be beneficial to both parent and youth. We assist in providing programs to those youths from 11 through 22 years of age regardless of race, gender, or inability to pay. Ultimately, through PPI?s Youth Outreach Program, we strive to equip youth with values leading to a strong sense of self worth that will enable and empower them in moving along the path toward becoming a self-sufficient and productive member of society.
