HORRIBLE Customer Service 4/4/2012

Went here several times, always hoping for a better experience. The stylist I saw was consistently late for appointments. And no one ever bothered to a) apologize for the delay or b) explain the hold up and say ""thank you for waiting, it should be xx more minutes"". (Would that not be common courtesy/sense?) If I make an appointment for 2:00, there's a reason I made it for that particular time. If I wanted a 3:00 appointment, I would have made one for 3:00. I shouldn't have to sit waiting for 45 minutes. I think they overbook to make themselves more money, and the client is the one who suffers. And they don't even care. Take your money and your business somewhere where it is actually appreciated/valued. more

Exceptional Experience 8/10/2010

From the moment I enter Prive Salon, I know I’m in for a wonderful experience. I feel welcome and special the moment I arrive, and when I leave (which is hard to do since I feel so relaxed and pampered), I head out with a great hair style. Kelley does an exceptional job in designing the right look for me…from the hair color, hair cut and blow-dry…whether I’m going curly or smooth…always fantastic! I always say she applies “her magic” to transform my hair…but I know it’s really her talent and expertise. I also love the airy and open atmosphere of the salon which is so inviting. Looking forward to my next appointment.\r \r more

Rave reviews at work today 8/2/2010

Took a leap and took friend's referral to Prive because I wanted a new look. Cut out photos from magazines to give an indication of what I thought I wanted. Really loved that Becky spent a lot of time talking with me about my hair, how it behaves (usually it doesn't) and how 'high maintenance' I wanted to go. We found a great solution and I am really happy with the result. People at work today went crazy over my new style--and it had been two days since I had it done. Wish I had done this ages ago. A fabulous spa day 7/27/2010

My employer has been going to Prive since they opened and she gifted me with a spa day as part of my review. It was completely luxe--I had a massage, pedicure, manicure and haircut. She took me to lunch at the mexican restaurant first and then surprised me with the salon gift certificate and an afternoon off. She's just the best boss--and this spa was completely amazing I'd recommend this experience to anyone!!!! Pros: Best gift more

Best color 7/21/2010

This is the BEST place for hair color I have ever been to. My hair looks really natural and whatever dye they use seems to last longer than my previous salon's did. My hair seems healthier too. They also sell great products for less than I've seen at other places also (and I appreciate that they aren't pushy about it.) more

Great experience 7/9/2010

I think going to a salon ought to feel like an opportunity to relax--not just be about getting my hair cut and colored. One of the things I've hated about my previous salon was how loud it was, there always seemed lots of chaos, etc. and there wasn't a single place to comfortably sit (especially under the dryers). At Prive they work hard to keep it calm (but upbeat). It's so incredibly comfortable--right down to the leg rests that flip up on the shampoo chairs. I feel like it's a mini-vacation I give to myself. Pros: Feels like a gift I give myself more

Thrilled with new style 7/8/2010

I had been wearing my hair in the same style for about 5 years and was ready for a new look. A friend suggested this salon and I am really glad he did. (He lives in Silo Point and had pushed me to update my hair). I am so glad I took his advice--because I'm so happy with my new do. I'll be back in 5 weeks for another cut! Great place for hair 7/5/2010

My boyfriend and I are both writing reviews because I don't think many couples think about being able to go to the same place for their hair. I suggested he try Prive (where I've gone since they opened). (It's close to our townhouse.) He had a hard time making the leap to a 'salon' versus a barber shop but he is really glad he did. I could tell that he felt really comfortable there and has said that he'd go back. I am really pleased with his haircut and I can tell he is too. more

Great for guys too 7/5/2010

The whole guys in a salon thing always seemed a bit weird but this place is not so girly (there's a guy working there too). My girlfriend talked me into trying it (she's a regular customer) so I went. I don't think I'm ready to go for the 'mani' or 'pedi' but plan to try a sports massage in the future while she's doing her nail appointments. I agree that my haircut is much better than where I'd been going-and it feels like a social thing with my girlfriend. We went to lunch next door afterwards. I've told some buddies to go, too. Pros: It's close to up and coming area more

Just like my NYC salon 6/29/2010

I just moved from NYC and struggled to find a new salon. I stopped another girl on the street and asked who she went to and she recommended Prive. Her color and haircut were fabulous. I asked her how long she had been going there and she said it was pretty new but that she had been following Johnna through 3 different salons and now she's an owner at this one. I am SO HAPPY I took her advice. My hair looks wonderful (she even gave me the summer update look I was wanting). The place is beautiful; people are nice. It's just really upscale (and less than I used to pay in New York). Pros: Very upscale and current Cons: NONE! more

Way overdue review 6/16/2010

Feel bad how long it's taken me to write a review (sorry) but this place deserves an EXCELLENT. I have been going since they opened and am just so happy with the services I receive there. I am trying to convince two friends of mine to start going there too. They keep telling me how great my hair looks and I keep saying theirs could also. (You know who you are!) Drinks at the Mexican restaurant in the same building is also fun afterwards. I would tell anyone who is not happy with their current hairstyle or color that they should call Prive -- NOW! Wish I could live in bldg! 6/13/2010

My best friend and I just got new hair styles as part of a graduation gift this weekend. We had manicures and pedicures, too. This was a really great gift from my mom (who goes to one of the owners for her cuts and colors). Just a great experience all around! They even celebrated our graduation with a complimentary glass of wine! Pros: Beautiful place more

AMAZING 6/13/2010

I went there and got a facial, waxing and massage...let me tell you it was great! The facial and waxing was given by Betty, she was great! I have acne and she really helped me with some great tips on getting it under control. The bikini waxing was not as painful as other places, which was great! Anna did my massage, she was so sweet and very good ! I'm going back for a haircut a few weeks and have no doubt it will be amazing like everything else at Prive! My new FAVE place! What they advertise is sexy staff :) that's funny, I do not really care if my hairdresser is sexy blond or an overweight and not quite blond as long as my hair's done properly. They have very poor management skills, do not really try to keep customers and then have to advertise on groupon, etc. They have price range 40 to 75 for a haircut on their website, well, BE PREPARED TO PAY 85!! I needed a basic trimming, she was done in 5 minutes still charged me 85$ do you think I'm going back? :) of course not. my coworkers were thinking to go there, after talking to me they're not any more. Trimming was ok that's why I put 2 stars. The salon itself is far from being fancy. by the way front desk ladies are rude! Pros: easy to schedule as they do not really have many customers Cons: overpriced, unfriendly staff more

Best Salon in Baltimore 4/22/2010

Prive is a first class salon and everyone that works there is very professional and experienced. I get compliments everywhere I go on my hair cut and color. I have been getting my hair cut and colored by Jennifer (one of the owners) for years. I would never go anywhere else because she does a great job every time. I have also seen what the other stylists can do and I would feel comfortable going to any of them. I highly recommend Prive. Pros: Great haircuts and color Cons: None! more

From the moment i walked through the front door, until the time I scheduled my next appointment, I was made to feel that my hair and the service being rendered were priority one. I've been to many of the other shops in Federal Hill and never left feeling the way I did after this experience! The professionalism and quality of my haircut is what prompted me to schedule another appointment and tell all of my friends and their girlfrinds about Prive!
