Primstone LLC provided the marble and granite countertops for my new home. Primstone was selected by the company that built my home north of Houston, TX. Primstone’s strengths are as follows: personalized service, guidance in selecting the types granite and marble slabs, and they offered upgraded edge trim free of charge.
Primstone’s short falls are as follows:
1. The quality of finish on their marble is highly substandard. The countertops had dull patches and were scratched. Primstone did not fix this. I had a marble restoration company quote $1000 to correct the problem. The marble that was installed was sourced by Primstone and was not pre-inspected by the owner nor the builder.
2. The marble sink cut-outs had chips (approximately 1 inch in length and a quarter of an inch deep) in the edges. Primstone filled these chips with epoxy filler. In some cases, the filler did not match the color of the marble (looks terrible) and in one case, the filler fell out. Primstone did not fix this.
3. One countertop consisted of two slabs. The slabs were misaligned by approximately 3/16 of an inch. Primstone removed one of the slabs and corrected the problem. Although the fix was not perfect, it was much better.
4. There were no problems with the granite, but 4 of the 6 bathroom vanity marble countertops had problems that were not corrected by Primstone.
I do not recommend Primstone because they do not stand behind their workmanship or product quality to the level that one would expect in a million dollar home.
Lastly, be careful if you come across a favorable review for this company because it may be written by a builder that Primstone works with. It's a form of self promotion.
