Prime Rib

My experiences with red meat range far and wide, but the Prime Rib in Spencer, IA (close to summer mecca Okoboji) is the absolute best. Their specialty is Prime Rib, as the name implies, served every evening, and boy, is it GRAND. As a native midwestern, meat-and-potatoes gal, I'd like to think I know what I'm talking about. This place has it all -- atmosphere, waitresses to boast, a salad bar with everything imaginable (including pickled herring and their homemade ranch and bleu cheese), a menu with innovative entrees and some of the BEST appetizers, and the most hospitable management. Wander through the dining room to the connected silver hammer, and you're certain to find the owner and his faithful regulars - a jolly, welcoming bunch of ladies and fellas who love to have a grand 'ol time. If you're looking for a relaxing, fine, fun time with the best piece of meat you've had in your LIFE, the Prime Rib in Spencer offers you more than your dreams. Your experience will be what you make it, and I can guarantee you'll come back again and again. If you can't tell already I highly recommend the Prime Rib restaurant and Silver Hammer Lounge. A classic atmosphere mixed with new age decor. Excellent and very helpful service. Great happy hour specials in the lounge. All you can eat salad bar with homemade dressings, freshly made salads, fresh vegetables, shrimp, and pickled herring, but, save some room for the main course. Slow roasted Prime Rib (the specialty), tender, juicy, served in Au jus and done just the way it should be. Perfectly grilled mouth watering Filets, T-bones, Sirloins, Ribeyes, and New Yorks are also available. The Prime Rib also offers a number of other dishes; their delectable BBQ Ribs (Fridays only) falling off the bone, and their elegantly prepared Oscar's Oscar. The Prime Rib also has a banquet room for your upcoming get togethers. One of the finer establishments in Northwest Iowa. Pros: no reservations on the weekends=faster seating for everyone and if you want order in the Lounge fromn the full restaurant menu. more
