I will never do business with Prima Donna’s Closet again. They won’t share the paperwork that shows how they price the clothing, but one salesperson accidentally showed me my paperwork. I noticed they priced some of my consignment clothing at prices that were higher than what I paid for those items when they were brand new. My consignment check was around 6% of their total assigned sales value, which was much lower than the expected 40% as stated in the contract. When I asked why, I was told my items had been placed on sale and that I was receiving 40% of the lower sales price. They had no paperwork to back up the mark downs or receipts to show the actual sale prices. When I went to pick up my unsold items, I was told they would pull them for me. Then when I returned to pick them up, I was told they were lost, and then I was told they were mistakenly donated without authorization after I requested their return. The sales people admitted there was a problem, but the owner was extremely rude and denied fault until I filed a complaint with the BBB. I found it unusual that the BBB closed the complaint administratively even though the owner admitted fault in her written response to them. I don’t think she knew what happened to my clothes. It wouldn’t surprise me one bit if they transferred the items to another location to be sold. I should go take a look. Who knows when their bookkeeping is so inadequate.
Cons: High Prices, low commission percentage, poor record keeping
