I recently purchased a half cord of wood from Prianti Farms. Price is comparable to other suppliers noted on internet. We have struggled with finding good wood suppliers around the huntington area. When I ordered the wood, i told the sales clerk I would like a small load to see quality of wood before we ordered several more cords. The wood was delivered as promised and stacked nicely. When I took the first load in I was reminded of why I thought I had ordered from them in the past. The wood was covered in dirt and a fair amount of the load is pine. What is not pine does not burn very well. I will not be ordering from them for the balance of my needs this year. In the future I will keep better notes so I can remember where I got the good wood. more

They misadvised me on how much top soil to buy and then wouldn't give me even the slightest discount on mulch. The owner was curt and basically said there's nothing he could do. They are poor business people, I would try to shop somewhere else. more

Used them for the first time for their 99 dollar screened topsoil delivery special. Nice clean dirt (an oxymoron, i know). No stones sticks & other stuff. I ordered the 99 dollar brown mulch delivery special (they call it "classic" mulch i think) since i was so happy with the first order. Mulch was just as good quality, no complaints. Delivered quickly too, maybe I caught them on a good day but I got it the same day I ordered it. Overall price & quality really good. I'd definately order again or recommend to a neighbor. 4 stars deserved at least. more

I used Prianti firewood this year for the first time. Good wood for a good price with no qualms to speak of. There's Soooooo many half-assed part-time firewood dealers listed online so when I opted for them I was pleasantly surprised by what I got. A lotta wood & it did what it was supposed to do, burn baby burn!!!hahaha I only knew them as a plant nursery before but I'll definitely be using them again this year for their firewood when I run out. more

Reliable Friendly Fast Service. Good wood. Always a correct amount of burnable wood without a problem yet in 6 years. I pick up wood over summer it burned great but I went through it by the holiday. Ordered a delivery THIS MORNING & got it TODAY which I wasn't even expecting. Awesome! esp considering what News12 is expecting this week. Only thing is I always got the same special every year & I maybe should've got more. Wood burns well w kindling fatwood I use plus they give you more with order, but on my days off this year I've been keep the fire going aaaall day. Next time I'll think ahead & get more earlier & get a better deal, not that I have any qualms with what I've paid & received this far. I'm honestly surprised by some of the complaints on this website! and I'm quite happy to disagree. Very satisfied on the regular by Prianti, thanks yet again. more

Bought a face cord (4 x 8 x 1.5) of seasoned firewood. We have an traditional fireplace in the living room and a wood stove in the family room. The wood burns OK but a little smoky in the fireplace with lots of air. It does not burn well at all in the wood stove. Unless the draft controls are fully open the fire quickly goes out. This is our 4th season with the wood stove and we never had a problem before. This is the first batch of wood from Prianti and it does not appear to be properly seasoned. more

I can never believe my eyes when I walk in to Prianti! Everytime I'm either greeted by some cute little animal crossing my path, or end up admiring another plant I've never seen before, or see something else on my gardening list I didn't even realize they carried. It's a lot of fun, the simplicity of going here for anything my garden needs makes life easy. I've got enough to worry about so this just helps me enjoy myself more when I'm shopping, not that it's hard to do! Now that my favorite season's almost much done it's my first year trying their firewood, I haven't burned much of it yet but so far so good. I'll be going back to shop soon when all their mums come in because they're always SO full, and probably again once I get my christmas tree coupon they send every year. My how time flies, thanks goodness Prianti can help me make things look pretty as it does :) :) :) more

I wanted to see their topsoil & mulch so I stopped in and wandered over to their greenhouse. Looks small from the road but appearances are deceiving. Almost TOO much to see! Some of their flowers & shrubs almost looked fake by the way they so perfectly bloomed. Used what I got delivered to plant what I found there and my house has never looked better. Had to write a review just because I feel grateful coming home to see my home & gardens flourishing. Easily a new favorite place indulge my favorite hobby. Can't think of much that I could want that they don't have. more

Have purchased a cord each year for 2 years now. Great dry wood. In order to burn any wood you need air flow, draft, in the fireplace. I receive a variety of species that allow me to build the fire I desire. Nothing wrong with this wood! Prianti has been reliable. more

Good: Only place that has sold me true measurements of firewood. Ten years with no issues about quality of wood or quantity purchased. About five years ago they needed to reschedule my delivery date, but that was the only thing close to a problem I've had thus far.. Improvements: More availability. When the season starts they are understandably busy with orders and when temperatures drop I am eager to use my fireplace.. Other: Call early to get specials or before the rush during cold months begins.. more

It's clear why Prianti Farms has been in business as long as they have, which is over 50 yrs! I was shocked to see the negative reviews below as I've NEVER had a problem with anything, from deliveries to in store purchases, in almost 15 years as a customer. I've had friends from all over the island praise both their firewood then me for introducing it to them. :)I come from Floral Park to shop here, but I've know people from as far as Westchester who patronize Prianti for the rare varieties of perennials and shrubs they somehow manage to obtain. Plants are healthy and any questions are readily assisted by staff. A place like this makes landscaping easy because they have pretty much anything one could need for it. I've purchased stone, soil, mulch, firewood, and plants through Prianti over the years and still can't find another location to compare with price quality and selection on Long Island, and can't find anyone I know personally who disagrees. This nursery is not to be overlooked and is surely a superior business among their competition. more

Topsoil smelled funny, like it had some oil in it - clumpy with maybe 10-20% small stones, some large. Would never buy soil from them again. more

The firewood is horrible, burns poorly, smolders excessively, hard to light, doesn't sustain flaming, leads to excessive creosote buildup in chimney. You will be sorely disappointed if you buy this firewood, as I was, especially if you are burning in a wood stove or are burning for heat as opposed to ambience. I seriously have never been so disappointed or frustrated. I've gone through a 1/4 of a cord and will not burn any more as I am afraid of what it's doing to my chimney. Whatever you do, do NOT buy your firewood from Prianti. A word to the wise: you will be disappointed and frustrated with this wood not to mention putting yourself at risk for a chimney fire due to creosote buildup. Buyer beware. more
