My husband bought a Bonneville a couple of years ago and earlier this year, he wanted a different car. Well, mostly, he was upside-down in his car loan and we didn't want that debt hanging over us. So we started searching for a dealership that would give us a good deal on our car.
We got a card in the mail from Prestige that if we leased a new car, they would pay off our loan "no matter what you owe". Don't you always wonder if those are true? Well, most other dealerships, it is! We went to a Honda dealership and they would...we just didn't find a car there that we liked. So we were excited since my husband liked the G6. Yeah, Prestige lied.
We test drove the car, talked to the sales guy, and he kept saying, yes, we will pay off anything you owe. So we get everything all set, fill out paperwork, and bring in what we still owe on his car. The finance guy there comes over and says, sorry, we won't pay off your car. We said we were told you would, and he ACTUALLY said, well, I guess we lied.
Huh?
Ok, so whatever, we said, could you atleast pay off enough to lower our current monthly payment on a car. He said sure! I guarantee it! Let me talk to my boss and we'll fill out the paperwork. Well, we had to go to work, so we called later. Couldn't get through to our salesperson, the sales manager, finance guy, no one. My husband called atleast 5 more times that day...no one answering calls, no one returned phone calls.
We went in there and they said...well, we can give you this deal for this price, which was $50 more per month than they had previously stated!
Ok, so I understand...car dealer, shady, ok.
But the next week, we went to Dick Scott Dodge, they paid off his car, and we got a really nice truck for an amazing price.
Stay away from this dealership, please!!
