Be wary of claims by pet store staff that they sell animals only from breeders who are ""USDA-inspected."" The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) enforces the federal law called the Animal Welfare Act (AWA), which regulates commercial breeding operations. But the act doesn't require all commercial breeders to be licensed, and the USDA establishes only minimum-care standards in enforcing this law. Breeders are required to provide food, water, and shelter?but not love, socialization, or freedom from confining cages. I bought a puppy from Premier Pets about 6 months ago and we have had such an amazing experiance. Our puppy was the best addition to our household and we love her so much. Premier Pets was great to work with was very honest and helped us with everything we needed. We were able to speak with the breeder of our puppy and invited to go out to their place anytime. This is a very clean, respectable pet store and I would highly suggest you check them out yourself. To anyone claiming Premier Pets didn't cover their vet bills they are liars if you read the ""statement of consumer rights"" which Premier Pets legally has to give you, we got one when we bought our puppy, you would know that they are legally responsible for your vet bills, you obviously never brought them your vet bills or your puppy had problems after the guarantee was up or they covered your bills and you still weren't happy. Our puppy did have a minor ear infection when we brought him to the vet within the 4 days and they happily reimbursed for our meds for her ears. I think it is very unfortunate that anyone would write a dishonest review just to try to hurt a small business. Again Premier Pets is a truly fantastic store the employees were so helpful they never pressured us, they just answered all our questions. We continue to do all our pet shopping with them. All that have had any issues from this pet store and have purchase an animal here MUST contact the Attorney Genrals Office . I am going full force with my information. My puppy is sick and they refuse do do anything. THEY lie..... buyers beware on all fronts. Call the human society as well. I will post all once its done! more

This is a great kid friendly store!!! The new ownership is great they really go out of their way to help you, I am a single mom and I am not exactly rich I struggle so I try to do fun things that don't cost a lot of money. I take my son to the pet store quite frequently and even though Nolan (the owner) knows that I will probably never be able to afford a large fish tank, or the fish to go in it he still takes him back and shows him all of the fish and tells them what they are every time he goes back and looks at those fish he lights up. I am sure that he has more important things to do but he still takes the time out, and Nicole (the other owner) she takes the store dog out and lets him play with her, she is the sweetest dog, my son loves going to the store and asks me all of the time! I just really wanted to come on here and tell them how much I appreciate how wonderful they are to my little boy and how great I think they are doing, since they took the store over I have become a happy customer and they treat me as though I spend a million dollars there even though I only buy cat food and litter. Thank you so much for the experience and for your kindness and generosity! I hope you two all of the happiness that you have given to us!!! I have frequented Premier Pets for many years, and have always been very impressed. I have 2 freshwater tanks, a 125 saltwater tank, a bearded dragon and 3 dogs. ( Yes my family likes pets) I go out of my way to go there as I live in St. Cloud. They have a more knowldegable staff then you will find anywhere else. The owners and the employees don't just know info. from out of a book they know the best way to do things because they are all pet owners/lovers themselves and they will take as much time as you need to help you with something .I have personally kept them over an hour past close to help me with a tank problem. I brought them in a broken pump so I could match it up to buy a new one and instead of them just making a sale they took time to fix my pump for me at no charge and I was there to buy a new one.They are always willing to match a price if I do happen to find a lower one somewhere else. They have a huge selection of saltwater and freshwater fish, of coral, reptiles, birds you name it. If they don't have it in they order it. Two of our 3 dogs are from them and we are so happy with them. They have been nothing but happy and healthy. Our vet even commented that they were super impressed because they were from a pet store and were so social, well behaved, and healthy. I have seen them take puppies out just to run around and get excercise I have seen them not sell a dog to someone because they didn't think they would give it the best home. I was so happy with our first dog that we went back to get our 2nd. They gave us $100.00 off just because we had bought a puppy from them in the past. This place is well run and they work very hard at what they do. I would strongly reccomend them as I have had nothing but a positive experiance in my years of going their. I stopped in to get a new leash for my dog boy was that a mistake! I refuse to buy from a pet store who sells puppies, I didn't realize that they did, these little puppies spend the first scary and fragile weeks of their lives in small boxes with multiple other puppies, they are not taken care of very well, and they are scared! The owner will say they don't buy from puppy mills but that is not the case they buy from USDA breeders but the USDA is the United States Department of Agriculture which they are really only concerned with farm animals they check out these breeders less than yearly! The only reason that these places possibly have to apply for a USDA license is to mass breed puppies, which they do if you buy a puppy from them you are not buying a family raised dog that was loved and nurtured you a buying a puppy that will probably have some issues with its health and its social life they just are not the quality you are paying for, please help stop the mistreatment of these animals and boycott buying from pet store's who sell puppies from mass bred lets face it puppy mills is what we are talking about here! I went into the store to buy some dog food and a few toys, I decided like all warm blooded American women that I couldn't possibly leave the store without looking at the puppies, I had two dogs and had been considering another one but in the past I have always bought from humane societies lets face it we have a pet population problem on our hands. So I decide to hold one of the puppies who can resist a puppy, well the puppies smelled terribly and had stuff stuck in there hair, and not just one of them all of them, well at least the four that I held did. Then this woman was talking to me like I had no idea how to potty train a puppy and was completely clueless how to keep one alive, she treated me like I was a total idiot and she was talking so loud it almost sounded like she was screaming at me! I was embarrassed in front of the whole store, so I decided not to buy a puppy from them I also decided against purchasing overpriced food and toys from them and I was on my way, I suggest buying from Pet Ranch their prices were great and the store was much cleaner than Premier Pets, I enjoyed speaking with their friendly staff! I hope this review is helpful to others. By the way I did get a third dog from the Coon Rapids humane society please visit them before buying a puppy so many wonderful dogs are without a home, Charlie is a wonderful dog and I feel good knowing that I saved him from being put down only to make space for a new dog. PLEASE PURCHASE YOUR ANIMALS FROM THE HUMANE SOCIETIES ANIMALS ARE BEING PUT DOWN TO MAKE SPACE FOR MORE! Just do yourself a favor and go to a store with knowledgeable employees that will actually treat you with some respect, I will never set foot in that store again, horrible service and a dirty store with bad prices that about sums them up! I was just in there over the weekend and was nothing but impressed. I honestly can't believe anyone would have soemthing bad to say about them. They were helpful, honest, clean, genuinly cared about their customers, their pets and their business. I bought a fish tank from them 2 years ago and came back to buy a puppyand did. I took it to the vet today and the vet had nothing but good things to say about them and our puppy we bought. Ther took a lot of time to help us with any questions we had, and to help us pick out all the supplies we needed. We bought a puppy set up with our puppy that was nothing short of a fantastic deal. Everything we needed for our puppy inlcuing a kennel, the food, and all the other supplies was only $129.99 and was 15% off because we bought a puppy you can't tell me you can get everything for that price. I will strongly reccomend them to anyone looking for pets, or pet supplies. To the people who were not satisfied I would say give them a second chance because we sure were. Wow I can be really honest and say never even step one foot into this store these people only care about themselves, if you want to buy a dog do yourself a favor and buy one from a small breeder, I wish I would have listened to the first review on here and saved myself the hassle, the owners are seriously unprofessional and really act like they know what they are talking about when clearly they don't, they are very dishonest. The place is very dirty, the products were way over priced, half of the products on the shelf were expired, some of the products had clearly been used before. I am a reasonable guy I don't have any crazy expectations, I tried to work out my issue but now I guess I have to take it to the Better Business well you know the rest bureau. Save yourself buy from pet co or Pet smart, or anywhere else the Walmart employees are more knowledgeable than any of the employees and especially the owners! I have been a long time customer, I got 2 dogs and they completely helped me setup a 210 reef tank. They are very knowledgable and helpful. Very good prices to way lower then your chain stores like pet smart and pet co. Pros: Great Place more

I have purchased two puppies from Premier Pets over the last two years and had nothing but good luck. The employees were so helpful and honest. We were allowed to talk to and visit the breeder where our puppies came from and they were also very nice and helpful. We continue to purchase all our supplies from Premier Pets because they have a wonderful, clean, well maintained store. I honestly couldn't say enough good things about them. Try them out for yourselves and you will see. Pros: Honest friendly service, good prices,good selection Cons: Can be hard to get in and out of if youare going south on Hwy. 10 more

I have got two dogs from them, the first one I bought died from Parvo just hours after I got it home so they gave me a new one who also had parvo that was supposedly from a different place and was just fine according to them. so they have broke my kids hearts twice and they offer no apologies and they yelled at me for letting my vet ""run up an unnecessary bill trying to save my puppies"" is this the kind of place you want to deal with not me!\r The vet also told me that he had a number of people bring in extremely sick puppies from them and that they had to ban the pet store from bringing in any animals for their check ups because so many were sick and dying that they didn't want them to bring them in and get other animals sick, I now that they happen to buy from extremely large scale breeders, but they deny that they use puppy mills so who knows.
